Just bought the 2017 Plasma candy blue 300. Striking looks. Added a K&N airfilter and Akropovic performance graphite exhaust for a touch of tone and a bit more throttle response> plenty of power and zip. Lots of fun. Looks like a 600. Well balanced. Many compliments on bike. Love it.. Get one. No more blue Ninjas. Was told possibly a collectors item. @ 60 mpg & 42hp a perfect commuter weekend race fun.

Someone asked me if it was a 600 every day when I had my ninja 300. One of the best beginner/commuter sportbikes ever made I absolutely loved mine

is it normal to just shift all the way down from 6th or 5th at a stop light? i usually match my speed and downshift as im coming to a stop. if anyone can let me know id appreciate it

You can but is not ideal, sometimes gears won't sync up and you'll have to rock bike around to get back down to 1st. Continue to downshift and Rev match sequentially. Only time I would totally recommend not bothering is in an emergency stop situation.

Can anybody tell me how a Honda CBR 250r compares to a Ninja 300? I had a 250r for a while and it was wickedly slow. It was a beginner bike for me, and I got bored with it pretty quick. I'd like to get a 600, but not sure if that's a good next step up. Given my experience with that bike, is it safe to go up to a 600 next or should I do another small step, like the 3 or 400

I have had mine for 3 years. I use it as my around town transportation. Still works great for that. Short trips on the highway were ok. I haven't really desired anything more since I don't usually need to go above 70 tops. Plus it was cheap and I don't have to pay on it any longer. Probably ride it till the wheels fall off.

Ninja 300 is a lot of fun. I recommend getting one. Obviously it isn't balls out sports bike. I kept my 300 while selling other bikes, that speaks volumes about the 300. Every time I had a garage cull the 300 stayed. I still have it. Reluctant to sell it.

Best placement for gear indicator is above the instrument dials. Very useful having gear indicator as gears are fairly close together on the 300.

Getting back into biking and just want something to jig around on for fun. Trying to decide between the Ninja 300 ABS and a z125. The 125 is sooooo cheap, but not good for any amount of highway driving.

I've watched a handful of vids so far, and I'm wondering why you keep getting on the bikes from the right side instead of the kickstand side... drives me nuts. Awesome reviews nonetheless. Just got back on a bike after a couple years. Sv1ks.

Thak you for your reviews on bikes. Always wanted a bike but everyone's opinion of my age & inexperienced has always deterred me from getting one. But i have talked to many first riders. As long as i go thru motorcycle safety classes & get my safety certification, abide by the rules & regulations, do the speed limit& be aware of my surroundings... I will be fine. I am not a stunt rider!! I just want to ride!! Thanks for the info. Keep it coming man

Whats the fastest can a 2015 300 go? I have one, Gotten mine around 120, what can I do to make it faster? I already know I need power commander and a high flow air filter.. Whats the top speed could it go?

    • Lukas
Lukas In reply to Holiness Preacher

Easiest and cheapest way to increase your top speed is changing your sprocket size. Same goes if you want a better acceleration, either downsize or upsizd
Better top speed=lower acceleration Higher acceleration=lower top speed
