The Lancia Thema 8:32 was so named because it had a 3.0litre Ferrari V8 in its nose. It was also the car Enzo Ferrari chose to be chauffeured around in. After living with it for a few weeks, I can see why..

If that's a poor man's Ferrari, then I'd be quiet happy to be that poor.

The biggest problem with this car is that it actually looks worst than the regular Thema.
      The exterior looks ugly

6:25 asks what other non-Ferrari cars have a Ferrari engine? Mentions the dino engine in the Stratos but then doesn't think of the car that becomes obvious from the mention of Dino: The Fiat Dino.
Love the review and Lancia in general though.

My dad had that car it was amazing the speed, sound and comfort was next to nun. But I remember it also was so unreliable it was lucky to go four weeks without a breakdown.

      Hello everyone 😀
      The Itys are brilliant people
Those Lancias were the last of an Era, such attention to detail, never again will the world see that brilliance
Yiannis all the way in Southern Africa 😉

Now check out a Saab 9000 Aero for comparison...better inside and just as quick

The 9000 was not better inside, unless you mean better than a "normal" Thema, or just that you prefer the instrument layout.
The Poltrona Frau leather, alcantara headlining and wood used in the 8.32 was incredibly high quality. The black leather 8.32 interior looks much nicer than the creamy brown alcantara from the example in this video.
The 2.0 litre turbo Thema also outperformed the 8.32's acceleration (similar power, lighter car), however the 8.32 has a more refined power delivery, prestige. and that sound.

Before Fiat took Lancia over, Lancia models were mostly hand made and finished to a high standard. So to see the 832 which again were hand made and very special, is lovely to see again. Thanks Harry.

I remember reading a test of this car at the time and the wag testing it  remarked that the 8.32 was the seconds the tyres lasted on an acceleration run

Designwise looks like a Volvo 940 to some extent and with a long overhang. But that automated rear spoiler, the rear seat headrest and Ferrari engine are definitely the selling points for this car.

All I have is a fantastical viewpoint and it is a travesty Lancia is resigned to history. What this needs is some investors who are obviously
and seriously like minded and get Lancia back together and when the negotiations come to a contented end agree to create motor cars
that will blow everything else completely out of the water. The electric revolution still seems to far away to be viable.

Thank you, Harry, for this video. I was very fascinated with this car in the 1980s, but have never seen nor heard one because I live in the United States. The Thema doesn't sound at all like I imagined, but it is a very cool sound none the less.

Did not expect such a mad throaty roar--sounds more American than a Ferrari V8.

The Thema was a bog ugly car but I always lusted after the 8.32, the interiors of Lancias from that era was er, interesting! Didn't that thing have electronic adaptive dampers as well as the pop-up spoiler? That lovely Ferrari V8 made a great noise.

The much earlier Fiat Dino had a Ferrari engine.

The good old Lancia Thema 8.32 really was a gem with a Ferrari V8 off a 308.

Back in the 80's my dad had a Thema 2.0ie.
The local Lancia garage called him one day to say they had a car for him to take a look at, turns out it was the 8.32.
As the old man had not had his 2.0ie all that long and didn't want to part with more money, he declined.
The 8.32 that was being offered had been made to order for some chap who subsequently decided to up sticks and move to the Channel Islands.
Due to the fact that he couldn't get out of 3rd gear, he put the car up for sale.
This is the one that got away as my dad now refers to it.
