Side by side comparison of these trucks showing you the differences and advanatages of each. One thing that I failed to mention in the video is that the XLT302A has remote start while the STX does not.

I heard you can get these with vinyl seats rather than cloth. Is that more expensive or the same?

I give up on Ford, love the trucks but the dealers act like they are made of gold, it's pretty ridiculous how they mark them up and play games all day long with the pricing and rebates.

I have a 2018 XLT 302a with the massive center console and much prefer the look and style of it over the full bench.

All anybody needs is the XL, either the STX or the regular XL. And don't worry about the goofy STX decal on the side, it does come off.

No running boards on an STX? Bullshit...go to Ford's website. You can absolutely add them. Mine came with them as well

Give me a 5.0 6 speed manual SC LB with ac and I'm good, wait, they don't have manuals any more, guess I'll just keep driving my 2007 Ford Ranger with 250k miles------------till it drops!

$48,000 for a base model truck isn’t cheap at all. That’s awful

That one was actually pretty loaded out for an STX. You can get a lot of stand alone options on it, and that one had most of them.

Lumber? So if you have this window? That's funny! If your in construction , get A 250 OR 350.

I know, that was ridiculous. I really want a 10' piece of lumber inside the cab with me to break my windshield and rear view mirror.

What I remember swaying me from purchasing an STX (I did love the look) was the lack of keypad door entry (I really loved this feature) and if I remember correctly many of the STX's did not have a power seat. Not having a power seat would not be a big deal but for the fact that I was a little too short for the factory seat height (i'm 5-10!- go figure). If they could only make the XLT look sporty without gouging you with price of XLT sport package. So I ended up getting a mid range XLT package. BTW- I severely regret not speccing one with the reverse senseors. Yes mine has a rear camera but it sure is not as handy as the rear sensors. ANd BTW- that new 10 speed sucks- very annoying tranny.

Don't forget stx does not have a power seat, and if you really need seat heaters you can get a set for like 50 bucks on eBay or something. I install a ton of aftermarket leather in these trucks because people want leather but in order to get it you must move up to the lariat trim.

Stx if it didn’t have a hard ass armrest!!! I went with a new truck 2018 302a sport with navigation and all the goodies including running boards for $35,900 and couldn’t be happier!

Thank you for the great review. As a newbie to Fords full size trucks, you sorted out almost all my confusion in those packages. If I was closer to Westland Ford, I would definitely stop by.

Great video! Only thing I'd have to disagree with is that yes, you are able to get either bench seat or the console in an STX. Same with the XLT. You are not limited to seating options based on rather you get a STX or XLT.

This guy is saying that stx has certain things that you can’t get but I’m sure I could go on the ford website and build one with all those options like the xlt

I’d rather have a center console with column shifter because more storage space and column shifter seems right to me, but I do like floor shifter on some vehicles.
