This is a quick overview of this smoke machine and its basic setup. The things I like about this machine is its size, price, performance, no shop air required, and low noise... What I don't like are the big battery clamps, and no pressure output setting(only flow is adjustable). With that said it sure beats shelling out over $1,000 and better than a so called home made one.

What’s the sense of buying this if it’s not recommended to use on Evap systems, as well? I want something that’ll handle everything. Wish it did, but I’ll pass on this one. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Considering it's over 70% cheaper than comparable smoke machines, and its fully assembled with accessories.. that's a budget buy

would you not turn off the pump and let the vac from the system pull the smoke to test sensitive evap components??

+EscoSpeed might consider hooking output line to a Propane BBQ regulator - will keep pressure around 1psi which will be safe for any evap system... cutting power to pump should be fine though.

For sensitive evap components I would not recommend

Nice device but 15 psi/1 bar is too much for some systems. In case of external air supply you can simply regulate air compressor pressure but how to do this with embeded air pump.
If have some solution please repply.

This tool works great on chasing intake/exhaust leaks.. I specialize in European cars where they use plastic intake and never damage anything... keep in mind in order to achieve those high psi readings from this machine you have to have a perfect seal... no engine will have that... Evap system are totally different, and that is why I dont recommended using it.

Do you have a part number for a pressure regulator that can be used on this smoke machine for use on the EVAP System?

the amazon description for the item now says the item has been updated to work for Evap system. ( pressure is reduced). Did it have such a description when you bought it?

On the unit that I purchased pressure cannot be reduced, only flow. If some how I take it apart and add something to regulate pressure it will be the only way to adjust pressure.

Muchas gracias for your time and video. Thanks for the heads up on the psi issue I have a 2006 subaru sti which had a po442,po456 and po448.got rid of the 442 and 456 not the 448 possible pcm problem.gonna order the autool anyway . I may have a solution to restrict the pressure for evap troubleshooting which should be limited to 1 to 2 psi . If successful I'll contact you saludos
