I love having all the tech and comfortable seat options but I am real big on eye candy and the 2018 xts front to back is a beauty. If only I could put ct6 full interior layout and options/tech in the xts๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”

Wait, my hearing IS going bad, which makes me favor the XTS in that aspect. The CT6 is quieter, but I don't gaf because noise isn't an issue. What am I missing?

@Johan Joubert That's a good point, maybe that's what he meant. But Cadillacs are traditionally very quiet, and the XTS is definitely the more traditional between these two. I can't imagine that the decibel difference really matters that much in the real world; there's no way a big, cushy Caddy could ever be considered noisy by any stretch of the imagination.

Haha, I thought the same thing. However, a quieter car might make it easier to hear conversations in the car if you have bad hearing.

I'm not sure what's going on but my new XTS my seat is set to my liking but when I turn the car off to get out the seat moves forward to a uncomfortable position when I'm getting out and I actually have to hit the button on the door to stop it before it goes too far forward

personally I fucking hate the new trend of all digital gauges and screens. Its just tacky as hell and maybe its okay on a low end model of car...but on a premium luxury car....to hell with that generic tacky nonsense. It wasn't cool on 80's cars (although I'll take those cleaner displays over modern) and its not cool on modern cars even with the advances in digital screens.

Give me a nice analog layout...I don't mind a part of the dash or odometer being zoned for digital info...as being able to scroll through vehicle information is a plus....I just don't want the dash to look like the HUD in a racing video game.

If I get a lux ride I want old-school smooth and silent. Sounds like I'd get quiet in the CT6 and smooth in the XTS, but Cadillac is no longer offering a car with both. What else is out there to consider in this price range?

You missed a ton of key points. Two main ones are which dashbord is nicer. Thatโ€™s what you spend your time looking at every single day while driving around. Also which draws more eyes while driving around. To me the clear winner here is the CT6. One looks like Cadillacโ€™s answer to an S Class and 7 series and the other looks like a rebadged Buick LaCrosse

THE CT6 exterior has much better flow and isnโ€™t nearly as bubbly looking which I consider to be a good thing. The interior on the CT6 also looks much more upscale

This is EXACTLY the review I was looking for! I was torn between the CT6 and the XTS, but this helped me decide. I drive a 2015 Chevy Impala LTZ right now that I absolutely LOVE, and I didn't want to veer too far from it. It's the Platinum XTS for me! Thanks SO MUCH! I'm headed back to the dealership tomorrow for that 2018 Platinum XTS! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

My biggest complaint on the XTS is that it looks like it's nose diving when you are not braking! Why not make it look like it's sitting level?

These things are relative. Compared to the XTS, the CT6 has a bumpy ride. Do an immediate ride-by-ride comparison and you will see what I meant.

I am serious. Last month I hauled 800 lbs of wood flooring in the car. Put the back seats down, moved the front passenger seat all forward and went for it. Tomorrow I need to return an 8' step ladder to the person who lent it to me. It's so COOL to do this in a sedan. But, these things only occur 2 or 3 times a year.

I own the CT6 But the XTS has a nice look to it also. I agree on the folding rear seat , the XTS has that over the CT6, that is just a nice option to have and something I can use from time to time.I like the front of the CT6 But if you're an ass man the XTS is you're girl. Cadillac did a good job on both cars , now if they take one of them and make it a pillarless coupe, they will have a return customer. Excellent review

The reason for the key difference highlighted in the video is a difference in intent: The CT6 is designed to compete with the taut, highly engineered vehicles of premium German brands, while the XTS is a large, soft car at an affordable price point designed to appeal to taxi/limo operators and elderly customers. Essentially, Cadillac hoped to attract new customers in the former category without losing its existing customers in the latter category.

I agree that this strategy muddles the lineup and confuses customers. However, I should note that Lexus has successfully employed it for nearly 20 years with its IS/GS models on one hand and ES model on the other hand. The ES may not sell to fleet customers, but it similarly offers a larger size, softer feel, and more traditional styling at a lower price, while the IS and GS are firmer, much smaller for the money, and designed to compete with the Germans.
