We love ours and don't compare them to a Toyota, a great vehicle in the budget range.
We've only ever had Commodores and a Great Wall is a great day.

I'll buy a Hyundai or a KIA over Toyota or Honda any day if I was in the market for a new car now !

The Buick Verano, BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and load of VWs are all made in China these days. The German auto makers are smart in tricking the public to think that their cars are still made in Germany so they pay made in German prices !

even if it will be game over for the 3, it will take a loong time, since china created the reputation/sterotype that anything 'made in china' signafies as bad. South korea's auto industry used to be like China's, poor quality and dangerous. China does have some very safe cars, like the Emgrand EC7 , Wuling Sunshine, and Baojun 360, and Hafei Saibao/Coda Sedan.

The made in China cars = not safe is a load of horse shit !
Germany, Australia, Italy deems them all safe to be imported into the land of BMWs, Mercedes and Ferraris, are you telling me that the Small 3 produces something more safe and reliable ? ...LMAO

This is all about North American auto unions and politics that once Chinese cars enter North America, it is game over for the Small 3 !

most Chinese car brands are only ruling developing countries, and are still facing stiff competition from Korean and Japanese companies. Even developing contries perfer Saftey over money, and korean and japanese companies understand markets better than most chinese companies. And Japanese car companies have chosen to have thier cars made in NAFTA to be sold worldwide because we have lineant policies and better regulations for foreign companies unlike China.

Most of the Japanese brands are no longer made in Japan and are made in the country of sale which drives up the cost of the final product. I would not buy a new Toyota or Honda product anymore, an econo box like a Corolla or Civic is now in the $30,000 range and not worth the money vs value.

The Chinese brands are catching up fast, this is China things happen in months, not years if that is any lesson you take away from this !

I can't see that Toyota and Honda will die out, they have too big of a impact on many countries that Chinese car companies cant compete with, plus they're very creative companies. I admit that Hyundai, Kia, GM Korea, Renault Samsung, Tata Daewoo and SsangYong are the only ones to go head to head with chinese cars, but the koreans are alot more creative and advance compared to most chinese car companies. I mean whens the last time a korean car company has been sued for copyright infrigement.

The Small 3 just what to rebadge cars from China so they can sell at a higher profit. The Korean auto makers are the only one now ready to compete with Chinese cars, the rest like the Small 3, Toyota and Honda will kick the bucket sooner or later !

Yes you can, here in the US and Canada, BYD will sell the e6 electric minivan, BYD DM Conpact crossover as well as the BYD eBus which will be made in Windsor, and Australians won't be getting any BYD cars for a while. Also Great Wall is planning to bring thier bigger Haval H5 to both American and Canadian markets. Also the Buick Verano isn't a American car, its actually Chinese and its the first Car to come to both countries.

Lucky Aussies can now buy Chinese cars, we can't in Canada because of US auto unions ! :(

I live in Sydney so going over 60kmph is not only impossible without crashing into the back of someone, its also illegal. I recently test drove one of these 2012 model, and they are a fantastic vehicle when you take price into consideration. These vehicles came in for a lot of biased bad press, however the product itself is the best salesman and they are highly engineered, and very reliable.

Saying something is low quality is totally different than being "racist." As far as crash test ratings, I was referring to our NHTSA ratings. It has obviously passed the ANCAP if it's being sold in Australia. It's known that these simply are not as good because it's a starting brand. Many of their cars are complete knockoffs of other car companies. I drive a Hyundai, by the way.

Actually it does meet crash standards, since they are set in ANCAP. If they aren't sold in the US it's probably because of racist dopes like you.

I am from the US, and obviously this brand is not sold here because it doesn't meet crash safety requirements. Its interesting there used to be a BorgWarner transmission factory near where I live, which closed. I wonder if they are made in China now. It's interesting a lot of these cars are almost exact copies of other brands with sub-par parts. This brand makes Chrysler (the worst US automaker) look good.

This review is so awkward sounding lol. 0-100 in 20 are you for real? How you can say its not gutless is beyond me. I daily drive a 1969 kombi, if you've really got the hammer down and you're shifting well it will do 0 100 in 20.

suprised the dealership is profitable selling such lemons.
I detect a hint of bias in this review... possibly. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was just given a new great wall ute as a work vehicle... well my boss said it's new. It feels like driving a car that has 10 years worth of wear on the drivetrain.

Did anyone else notice how he has to carefully choose his words? "It's a bulletproof sorta driveline" lmao. Which one is it? Bulletproof or not? I bet you when one comes back broken he'll eat his tie.
