When updating an automotive icon it’s easy to mess up. In the case of the newest JL generation Wrangler, Jeep has succeeded in elevating its legendary off-roader without destroying what made it so popular. Sporting a revised engine lineup, expanded use of lightweight materials, a greatly improved interior, a hardcore Rubicon trim, and a trio of clever, easy-to-use tops the latest Wrangler is the most comfortable and, perhaps, the most capable version yet. Kelley Blue Book’s Micah Muzio traveled to rugged desert outside of Tucson to see how the 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2-door and 4-door fare both on and off road.

Why is the video icon a 2 door silver Jeep and the review is a 4 door red Jeep? I was looking for a review on the Sport.

I am sure someone has said this but just in case. That’s not a cell phone holder. It’s a spot for the key fob.

It’s nice but still not as capable as the Wrangler.

Test drove yesterday....$53k..... no v8 option with low limited towing, passenger comfort, or safety... off a Rubicon??? I'd gladly buy one on the $40k top line limit.... way too overpriced being knew.... rather buy a nicer hated ford for that price.

I never had a problem with even my TJ's as a daily driver. Look up real world reviews of the new models, serious problems, catching fire! Windshield cracks if you look at them too hard. I went and checked out a JL Rubicon and the bumpers were plastic! The vehicle from a distance looked cool, up close, it looked cheap, consumed in plastic. and the sticker was $51K!

This is the same demographic/crowd that would buy the Nissan Xterra, or the LL Bean Edition Suburu Outback “back in the day” because they saw it on a commercial with a kayak, bike, etc....on top, and ride around town with them on tp like trophies everywhere. (Obviously in perfect condition because never used) “Look at me”. They had to find a way to market the most impractical vehicle on the road. Break out the “North Face”, and “Patagonia” clothing line now. Nothing but “NeoChristian” CountryClub Fads, and clicks.

That soft top is nice... but I dont like how it sits there flopping around blocking your rear view.

In my opinion, the 4 door jeep is the ultimate vehicle of summer. You can take off the top and the doors, you can go through back roads and sandy paths to a hidden beach, and you can load up a bunch of friends and stuff.
