I do a full review comparing the 2019 Toyota Highlander Limited AWD vs 2019 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4. You choose the one you'd pick if you could. Please "ask to work with Jeff" if in NC looking for a Toyota.

I have an '08 4Runner (my 3rd 4Runner) and it's still a fantastic vehicle but outdated and getting older. Highlander has everything I want but a little big for me. What I'd really like to see is the Rav4 with a v6. Guess i'm waiting for 2020 and crossing my fingers.

It depends if you want a car-based SUV or a truck-based SUV. Two different styles for two different purposes. One is for driving and one is for off-roading.
The car-based SUV will be quicker and more comfortable whereas a truck-based SUV will be more rugged and durable.

You won't get 18 mpg on the 4runner unless you're driving like a turtle

My buddy gets 22mpg average and definitely doesn't turtle it but he did the air box mod-whatever that is, and has a tuner. Somehow feels a tad quicker too. Not sure what tuner he has in it. All cheap upgrades 👍. Oh hes got the 16' trd offroad.

4Runner handles like a marshmallow around town and guzzles gas. I had a 2012 4Runner Limited and sold it after one year. Couldn't live with the way it handled. Had to go very slow around corners or squeal the tires. However, if you spend a lot of time off-road (most people don't) the 4Runner is the obvious choice. Otherwise, the Highlander makes more sense.

4:12 Look at that FUGLY back window. That's the exact reason to get a T4R, a smooth cool awesome lowering rear window.

The comments are amusing, all the 4 runners I see are being driven by "soccer moms", but hey have you ever heard that mom knows best? The limited 4 runner is nice to sit in and quite nice too drive but the dive it displays under braking is ridiculous in a modern vehicle and the add on chrome etc is tacky and ruins the exterior appearance, the interior is quite cramped , the step in height will annoy most buyers after a while. If one wants a 4 runner then the TRD offroad is probably the best value. The Highlander addresses most of those issues and is a more sensible everyday vehicle, XLE best value,so I guess the soccer moms still know best!

It is about freaking time Toyota include some of the safety systems from Highlander into 4Runner limited. At least give us the damn option. The other thing that makes me mad is that Highlander has more powers than limited...Damn you Toyota...
Damn you Toyota give us Toyota Safety Sense as an option, I will pay for it in my 4runner Limited..I want TSS 2.0 now

Yes at sticker price this month. If you want to be the first to get one, do it this month. If you want discounts, wait until January and into Feb-March. I also responded to your other question about 4Runner SR5 pricing too in a different comment by that question. Thanks Antonio nice to have you on board! Jeff

+Toyotajeff in Raleigh yeah, here in NY they wont budge off price too much. Offered 3k less than msrp on a new 2018 leftover camry, the guy laughed! He still has 2, 2016s left, and 5 2017 camrys left! also 15 2018 camrys! He was such a dick too. I walked out. I guess diff states sell better. Alot of people on facebook say they got them at good prices. Around 4k off! But they live down south, out west coast, etc etc. I guess NY is a tough market?

Do you want the 2019 4Runner SR5 4x2 or 4x2? What about options for 3rd row cargo area -- do you want nothing or sliding rear cargo deck or 3rd row seats? that makes a difference. But a good rule of thumb this month in December is to ask for at least $4k - $5k off. Might even get a little more off. Jeff

Hi Jeff, l need your professional view. Which one would u recommend 2019 Toyota Highlander Limited VS 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE? The main idea is gas conservation. Is there that much of a difference between the Gas and the Hybrid and then the two trims? Thanks

Toyotajeff in Raleigh In reply to Nana Baffour

Hi Nana! The best rule of thumb with the gas vs. hybrid debate is that if you do a lot of city driving and will keep your car a long time, then the hybrid makes sense. If not, then get the next higher trim level in gas. The highway mileage is nearly the same but the city mpg is a big advantage of the hybrid. I hope this helps! Jeff
