2018 saw Ford refresh the F150. Updating the grill and the tailgate, added a few other features. Awesome work truck. New engine for 2018 the 3.3 V6 naturally aspirated powerplant is great basic engine.

I would love a fleet truck with roll up windows lol. I bet the simple V6 doesnt have any of the problems I've been reading about on the turbo models. Hows it holding up?

The center console mod is relatively easy to do. Cost about $150. Just order a Lariat leather replacement lid and inner liners rubbers, if you want them. Takes less than an hour. F150 Forum turned me onto it. Love it.

Just purchased my '18 F150 1 month ago. I got the Sport option and really like this truck. My previous 150 was a 2003 Supercab XL without the power group. Love that I don't have to crank down the windows anymore! LOL!! Put on the stone deflector as well as the window vents. Looks great with the black toolbox also.

I have a 2018 Ford XL 4x4 single cab SWB with the 3.3L Duratec. I like it for the same reasons you do. It has 3.55 with the electronic Locking rear axle. With this setup it is supposed to tow 5,000 lbs. I towed 6,500 lbs not knowing I was exceeding the tow rating and it was fine until you climbed a hill and then he started to grunt a tad. On the other hand trucks are not for racing IMO. I love the truck and the 3.3 liter is kind rare and I like being different. By the way it’s 290 HP/ 265 lb/ft torque

About time someone had reviewed Ford's base engine. If I had opted for either the 2.7L EcoBoost or 3.3L n/a V6, it would be in a regular cab, short bed truck to help maximize fuel economy. Men who actually use their trucks for work don't care for fancy wheels and/or chrome trim packages.

I just got my 3.3 2018 F-150. I was wondering if anyone has put a straight pipe muffler on there 3.3 v6? I'm thinking about taking out the OEM muffler and putting a MagnaFlow, Roush, or Borla muffler.

This is what a truck is supposed to be. A freaking truck. It's a nice small truck for light-duty work. Not everyone needs a massive 6.7 or 1 ton truck (Most of you just are daily drivers on empty loads). The turbos sound good until warranty is up and you have to start replacing parts (most 2013+ F-150's with 50k or more mileage have expired warranties so be cautious). Just a good truck. Honestly the Super Cab over the Crew Cab is the way to go. a 5 foot bed is terrible. When your cab is bigger than your bed and you still fit less people than this truck with less gear, you got screwed over.

Because people are dumb and don't turn their lights on. GM started doing this in about 1996 on all vehicles. About time honestly.

Auto start-stop is not terrible on the naturally aspirated engines. But on turbocharged motors, it is very unhealthy, as turbo engines need a bit of time before shutting down after a drive, or starting after a stop. If you treat a turbo like a NA engine, it’ll fail in little time.

For a work truck, you are spot on. Less shit to break or cause issues, and about as close to a real truck you can get. No tech and software to give you endless issues. Really nice looking truck man! I love the black grill too.

I have the exact same truck. I just wish I had bought one with a locking differential. Instead though I put ATC Goodrich tires on and bought some bed weights. I think tires make s big difference. I prefer a work truck as well. I live in the south, but a locking differential would of been nice

If its anything like the old 4.2 it will be the most reliable engine option. That 6spd has been around for over a decade I think so that should be bug free.
