We were going from Manali to Leh. When we were descending Rohtang pass towards Keylong side, A truck was coming from the opposite direction. Crossing a vehicle coming from opposite direction is always a challenge on narrow mountains roads. Everyone have to keep patience in any of such condition. But we found a crazy, impatient and angry truck driver who was in very hurry and even tried to hit us. He was continuously abusing us. Rohtang pass is famous for its deadliness. This video is also helpful in understating that how we can drive safely on mountain roads with the use of dipper lights. Always keep patience in any situation. Please share your comments.

Here you have seen the road conditions in himalaya especially in Lahaul region. You cant drive faster than 20kmh speed on such roads. So you need to slow down your pace and stay calm, enjoy the beauty of nature,....
No hurry .. dont worry. Drive slow . 👍

3 points for driving on such roads :
they have first right on road :

      0. Truck loaded with liquid ( or Liquid Petrolium Gas ) - This is the major reason, you learned it about kinetic motio n while schooling.

Always chill, take things lightly & not on heart, what you did.
These trucks dont have proper brakes, proper torque to uplift on slippery roads & cheap tyres in comparision to a car.

it's a loaded truck so it needs more space ..if it keeps going left May leads to sleepary ..so u have to go right when such vehicles are coming ..even u had space to go right side

I feel that was completely wrong on the truck driver's end. There was enough space. If he being a himachali driver can't get the truck out of that space - he doesn't deserve to drive in himachal. I am from himachal and I know so many good drivers. He was definitely a douchebag

#extremeout May be "Indian Oil" truck was loaded with "Indane Gas" gas cylinders so the driver was trying to avoid ups and downs to prevent his truck from getting unbalance.

Dont mind but there is a simple rule which everyone follows in hilly areas , Always give way to the vehicles which are ascending as its more difficult to reverse a vehicle while ascend as brakes may not function and vehicle may roll back. Trucks are heavy vehicles with a lot of load in container , which makes it more difficult for truck drivers to control while reversing. That driver was also following the same , and i guess he was expecting from you that you know this thing.

Very unusual to enter into a traffic brawl in a narrow dangerous & slippery terrain road. Kudos to you to have shown patience and endure Truck Drivers abuse! Keeping your Mind cool was the trick! Never lose patience and drive emotionally in a hilly terrain or else where, even in a city like Delhi and Mumbai etc. Nice to learn from your experience!
      You are the HERO!

      What i feel is that..
May be the truck was loaded with some stuff.. And he had a fear that the strech might submerge. So out of that fear he must have not taken the pass. And the second case is that for the truck drivers its really hard to drive on cut to cut margin.
But ofcorse yes abusing was not apt at that point. Bye the way u reversed really nice. Coz its really tough to do so.

Poor tourist you dont the road rule in Himalaya. It is not Delhi and Bombay where you keep on moving, breaking signal, beating horn unnecessarily. This is Himalaya and you should not mess with the road here.
You are well aware that the truck is moving up and road is muddy, slippery, rough and watery. Obviously the truck deserve to move earlier. If your common sense worked at that time you would not posting this shit. Anyway you are new face in Himalaya so you dont know. But bear it whether the road is bad or good normally the smaller vehicle should be stayed aside and allow the heavier to go. In your case it is a heavy vehicle and coming up so at least you could spare a minute there..anyway stay blessed and dont play with truck driver they are all Sunny Paji. Hope you will follow Himalayan rule next time....
