Imagine winning a free, all original, 1957 Plymouth Belvedere classic car with only 4 miles on the odometer that is interwoven with the local culture and heritage. Sounds amazing right? Ok here's the catch, the car doesn't run, is held together only by rust and mud, and has spent the last 50 years buried in a waterlogged concrete vault. Who put it there and why? Let's find out.

Sorry, the shiny one in the beginning is really a 1958; similar but the quad headlights and different grill badge give it away. Also, most of these were victims of severe corrosion above ground due to attaching the aluminum grill components to the steel fenders.

"So you want a concrete box that you won't check on for 50 years, no problem...I also sell magic beans" said the sales manager from Honest Joe's Construction to the simpletons of the local council.

They really thought plastic wrap would protect it from groundwater? and the concrete made it even worse it held the water around the car, they should have just buried it in plastic. Wow some real heavy thinkers runnin the show down there in the 1950s

They should have left it in it's grave, and erected a tombstone with the inscription
      Here lies Miss Belvedere
she was to be a beauty at 50, so we're told
but passed at only 4 miles old.

If I'm correct, I'm pretty sure that the Plymouth Belvedere had a push button Transmission. When I was a kid my friend had one given to him by his Father.

And a DEHUMIDIFIER w a sump pump in it as well!! Above ground dry storage W/ proper humidity control would have been the right way.
