As far as I know Ford does not need a centre locking diff as it is not a constant 4wd. This is not actually a bonus for the Prado, its a necessity, so that front to rear drive is 50/50. Giving it bonus points for this is stupid, maybe points for being a constant 4wd instead. For all those who say "The Prado will be going for 20 years" you'd be hard pressed to find someone who has the Prado they bought new 20 years ago, let alone one that's running like it was when new.. maybe in the city?

Not sure how you can compare a Toyota with well documented off road pedigree, to a European made shit box ford that has no reliability or build quality?

Why didn't they compare using the 2.0L bi-turbo Everest rather than the 2015 era 3.2L. The 2.0 out performs the Prado hands down.

The big difference between Toyota LC Prado and Ford Everest is you'll never find a Ford Everest run in 10 years unlike the Toyota LC Prado and even the Toyota Fortuner they will outlive the Ford Everest in 10 years.

mate a centre diff lock only applies to vehicles that can drive in all wheel drive on road and therefore need a centre diff lock to make the car preform as a REAL 4x4 off road. The everest has auto locking hubs so you are already in proper 4x4 the moment you select 4H. Prado only is in proper 4x4 when you select 4H with centre diff lock. the difference is less to do with locking diffs and more to do with the fact a prado can be driven in 4x4 unlocked on highways giving a safer drive when wet or icy just like a subaru Awd will.

I am a Landcruiser guy for years so not going to change now. But it occurred to me that the poor Mitsubishi Pajero is all but forgotten about these days. We used those when I was with the UN in Cyprus but back then they were considered the 4WD king.

Due to luxury tax , GST and wealth tax and Custom duty. Toyota is expensive in India.

Aref Eshghi They do have, infact they manufacture all other cars and SUVs here. The high prices are due to it being imported as a CBU and partly because toyota is known to overprice cars in India. Forturner here is $60k+ even after manufacturing locally.

@Mayank Chauhan So probably Ford has an assembly plant for its cheap models in India while Toyota doesn't have a plant for Prado!
