Prepare for a deep dive and review on the Acura RDX. The new design was created from the ground up to compete in the Luxury CUV and SUV segment. There are other strong choices like the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and of course the Lexus RX, but we focus in on why the Acura is different. Everyone is always looking for the best SUV or a top 10 list so we avoid comparisons and just focus on the technical details.

Looking for a new or used vehicle, watch and learn!

Holy shit! You've gone off the charts with the music and the cinematography this time. Plus, the amount of detail, the engineering explanations and research, and all the hard work put into this video. It shows! We really appreciate what you do man. Your one man operation is better than the entirety of MotorTrend.

All the tech is nice to have but when something breaks how expensive is it to fix? I think leasing for all new cars is the way to go to avoid aging tech that goes bad. Good to see it still has a spare tire. Good review.

So drove a 2019 RDX w/ Tech package yesterday and was impressed with it. Looking at a few CUV’s and so far like this the best. The best combo of luxury, tech, and performance that we drove. The negative. The salesman said check out Edmunds for more info. Well he shoot himself in the foot. Lots of negative reviews on the infotainment system and transmission issues. We have had transmission issues on the last three cars we have owned. Most were dual clutch cars. So looks like the RDX is out for us looks too risky. Link.

I think transmission problems are becoming more prevalent in many cars as they transition to newer designs with more gears more complexity.

Very professional video. It's nice to see someone actually discussing the engineering of a vehicle -- and not just mentioning what the knobs do -- and to do so without a lot of needless superlatives thrown in. Well done!

very well made video, i have never seen a video that shows under the vehicle itself. Personally I moving away from sedans and more to mid-size crossover vehicles in the future. And my next car is the Acura RDX A Spec with the exterior blue, black or red. And the interior red and black, i simply love this compared to the Hyundai 2018 or 2019 and possibly the N Line from Hyundai in 2020.

That was an excellent video/review! My wife and I test drove one yesterday, Elite trim. We really liked it, her more than I. I truly appreciated your in depth review of the infotainment especially. For me the infotainment is the one negative. It's 2019, the RDX should have Android Auto already, sales guy said it's coming, but no firm date yet. I have a 2014 Ram Sport, I absolutely love the infotainment, (despite no Android Auto), I was lost going into the RDX.

When you're at half throttle the car assumes you're trying to drive economically. So it shifts to the highest gear to minimize revs. It's a Honda problem. Or a blessing depending on how you look at it

I have to compliment you on your RDX review. I have owned Acura’s since the mid 80s, starting with two Legends and switching over to MDXs for the next 3 vehicles, with a BMW 330 cig in between. I’ve been watching the RDX for the last two MDXs , but they couldn’t compare with the MDX. Two months ago I bought the new 2019 RDX and have been enjoying it ever since. Your descriptions are spot on, but your technique in delivering the information make it all believable. I’ve probably watched every RDX review that YT has to offer and without a doubt yours is the most accurate and entertaining. Keep up the good work!

Can't stand the look of that... _thing_ in the center stack. I won't call it a shifter because it doesn't deserve that title. It looks like something from a $10000 subcompact car from ten years ago.

It has 10 speeds but how many does it actually use on an average acceleration away from a traffic light? All 10? Doubt it.

I really like this vehicle. Everything except the bizarre dynamic mode dial in the middle, and the stupid looking infotainment screen tacked on top like an after thought. I can't wait until manufacturers figure out how to integrate into the dash or center console better. Even the Honda Pilot and CR-V do it better.
