The short answer is if you don't count the tax, I paid more for my cell phone bill. Even after almost $10,000 in repairs and maintenance. Understand what you are buying, get a good example and you too can likely live the dream for a lot less than you would have guessed. Amortizing expenses over several years also is a better representation of actual ownership costs. Having a car for 2 years or less might not be indicative of actual ownership costs as you might get lucky or unlucky with the timing of a costly service or repair. Hope you found this informative, stay tuned for more.

Rob, thanks for putting this together. I'm considering picking one of these up or an 05-06 Gallardo. Prices are "relatively" affordable. Question about this video: could you add the breakdown to the description? Hard to see in the video. Again, thanks for this!

Now May 2019, quick review of SOLD eBay listings puts 360s of what appear to be normal/good condition 54-75k... What say you speculators, is the nice example 360 value continuing to drop??? Market prefer timing-chain F430 and their values, over the timing-belt 360? What is your updated 360 value opinion and why?

I have to laugh at this. That car barely saw the road and cost you 9k. In this case, what the cost per mile

If someone is looking for an exotic, the Ferrari 360 Modena is a bargain. It may be from the late 90’s or early 2000’s but it’s easier to diagnose and work on vs newer exotics. The prices have gone up on these slightly for the last decade.

What about standard engine service? You don't have to remove the engine like in the older models?

The 360 doesn't require the engine to be removed for the engine service.

It's hard to do an adequate comparison to my Z06, which I factory ordered new. I got about a 10.5% discount off it's MSRP. And I did more maintenance than required (changed out all fluids at 45Kmiles). I did a home equity line loan for about 2 years at 2.99%. Up until now, $0 for repairs. $1400 in road debris damage. However, now part of the HAVC stopped working properly. This might be up to a $1500 repair. I've been through 2 sets of Michelin PSS tires and 1 set of front brakes (5 hours of track time). Both I saved a lot by buying from RockAuto and BOGO sale from TireRack when Michelin switched to 4S compound. I will need a new windshield in another couple of years. It's getting pretty sandblasted. SafeLite will do it for about $1150. And I just had all the rims refinished for about $425 per side. Depreciation, of course, was the biggest hit. It's got over mileage so the car's worth about $32K-35K in KBB for trade-in. I plan on keeping this car for quite some time. It'll be interesting to see if it becomes a $$$ pit after 10 years of ownership. I have about 66Kmiles on it now. And I'm paying about $2350/year with insurance bundle with my other car with $1500 deductible w/ full glass and rental coverage through NationWide.

@193rdsfs I live in CT. A very expensive state for nearly everything. What I pay is for both my cars. But, you may be right. I got a ticket 4 years ago and I think it's time for me to do some shopping around now.

Sandy your insurance is to high of that's what you are paying ? You need to shop that insurance. I have a 2017 GTR full coverage and pay 757 a year but I live in PA. Not sure where you live.

It's not +/- $200 pcm whilst you own and use the thing, though is it? Otherwise, everyone would have one. It's disengenuous to suggest that it's a fixed price in the same sense as compared to a lease car.
That $195 figure is largely irrelevent to the real world - it's just how it averages out on paper once you've wiped your hands of it. You've still got that month where you had to pull $??,??? out of nowhere to put something right AND you had your finance payment AND there was the insurance that month too. That money has to come from somewhere and you need to have the means behind you to bankroll the expensive out of warranty toy that was very very expensive during month X.
At the very least someone contemplating buying one of these cars either needs to have a slush fund for surprise bills, or, the patience and character to be able to push the thing into the garage and forget you own it until the funds to fix whatever went wrong materialises.

If you paid 14 grand over 4 years for maintenance you got away dirt cheap.  I owned an F40 and 14 grand was freaking peanuts.
