Handling: Solid. I'm driving this on snow and ice and it's STILL hugging the corners well. I felt in control the entire time I was driving it so much so that I pushed this vehicle much harder than I do most of my rentals.

Acceleration: Fun. It's not the fastest rental I've had, but the engine gives you a satisfying roar when you hit the accelerator and it responds almost instantly. It really it a good ride.

Did I miss anything on this rental? I really appreciate all the love I'm getting in the comments, but please don't hesitate to offer constructive criticism too. For example, someone recently suggested I add shots of the headlights at night, so I'm going to try to incorporate that into all my future videos. If you have a suggestion, please share it! Cheers!

I think it's part of the technology package or something. Anyway, thanks for pointing this out. I should have clarified that it is an available option, if you want to pay extra for it. I'll try and include that if I get another chance to drive a 2019 Camry.

Your model didn't have blind spot monitoring on the side mirrors, but it is available because I have it on my 2019 SE.

Someone that doesn't know cars as much might want to know what other options there are with the engine. You told us that it's a 4cyl, but there is a V6 and hybrid too.

please dont shift this manually its so stupid paddle shifters i got the LE just cause those things look dumb i do regret not getting leather seats . Also I got Le because it has more tire less rim which is better long term less stress on front end because the bigger the rim skinnier the tire the more stress on front end parts etc

The car itself tries to be something its not.  Large fake vents in front, the shit fake vent in the rear that really destroys the great lights in the back.  Your driving a FAMILY SEDAN dudes.  Just shows you how marketing, and a few over the top styling enhancements gets you to purchase a average family car.  The black is the only color that sort of hides the over the top styling imo.

I have a love-hate relationship with the manual parking brakes. I agree that they feel old fashioned, but at the same time, I do like having a brake on the vehicle that doesn't rely on the battery having power.

Just FYI Direct Shift actually means that when you increase throttle to accelerate it can skip gears, e.g. 5th to 3rd depending on throttle position. This is ideal in response vs. downshift 5th, to 4th, to 3rd like automatics of old. Also not all transmissions do this, and sport mode ideally keeps the rams higher for spirited driving and holds the gears longer rather then upshift.

Just bought this 2019 SE model as my daily driver with the convenience package for 26,500$ out the door I'm extremely happy.. toyota gave me -5,500$ off the price. I went for the Honda accord sport first.. and they wouldn't even give me -2k off the price on the 2018s! And Their was a lot full of 2018s that they can't sell...
Apple CarPlay is standard with toyota safety sense and I love that the car has so much sound cancelation technology.. it's very quiet and smooth. The emergency braking is amazing.. it actually works.. I've had a couple of people slam their brakes infront of me and the car reacts faster than I could. Also it picked up a stray incoming football one day and autobraked.. Amazing tech.. and it comes standard on all models.

Great idea to review your rental cars! Subscribed. We just bought a 2019 Camry SE and agree with your observations. Toyota hit a home run with the 2018-19 Camry. Our SE is white but otherwise configured like this one, with black interior and no other options, just all-weather mats and mudguards. So we don't have push button start or blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic alert. I would have paid the $600 for BSM/RCTA but in the NW USA they roll it in with push button start and a moon roof for $2100. I don't think you can get it separate.

I notice most reviews of mid-sized cars have the Honda Accord edging out the Camry for best in class but it's interesting they never tell you Honda is getting sued over an oil dilution/contamination problem in their 1.5 liter turbo engine! It's due to Honda's direct gas injection. Toyota anticipated this problem years ago and that's what their term Dynamic Force Engine is all about - instead of only direct fuel injection the Toyota engines have direct injection plus the old port injection. Costs more to make but your valves don't gunk up with deposits and your oil doesn't get contaminated with gas. Honda's turbocharger may be part of the problem, too - we'll have to see how this story plays out over the years. Also, at this price trim Toyota uses their high-end direct shift 8-speed transmission while Honda uses a lower quality CVT transmission, not their excellent direct shift 10-speed transmission found in higher trim levels.

Anyway, the Accord is a great car and would be a great rental for you if you haven't done it yet but anyone wanting to keep a new car for 5 years or more should be thinking Toyota.

I really like the new Camry. Not sure if I’d go for an LE or, se. I would like the v6 but I really don’t like the led lights on the xse and xle, so I’d stay with a 4 cylinder. If only enterprise had accords, that would be a good comparison
