Thanks for putting this vid together and posting it. Planning to take the Auto Train from FL to VA in a few weeks. The vid gave me lots of details I was looking for including (and most importantly to moi) that I can keep my roof rack cargo on top of my Subaru Outback for my drive down to FL. See minute 4:44. So thanks much.

That guy leaning in between cars at 11:10 is pretty sketchy, great way to get yourself crushed if you trip and get caught between the knuckles. No way am I doing that while the train is moving

Amtrak has really missed out on the boat and revenue for decades by where this train runs. Lorton to Sanford? They should've run it to NYC and if not, somewhere on the NJ side and all the way down to Hialeah, Fl. There are so many snowbirds, especially the elderly, who want their car when they're in Florida but don't want to make the drive but even driving from the Northeast to Virginia is too much for them. In S. Florida, a lot of the elderly were forced to use car services to drive their autos back and forth, money they would've gladly paid for the Auto Train.

Amtrak you suck they stopped the 611 steam locomotive from doing any excursions again they need to stop doing that to such a beautiful steam locomotive and let the 611 ride the rails when ever she wants

Thanks for this, I found it very informative and fun. I have been hanging out on the La Grange site and see the car carriages often but wondered how they do it from the Ford Factory in louiseville. Now i know! Oh and it is December 28 2018 at the time of typing.
