It is indubitability a genuine RS high performance auto. Technology allows it to super performer while also being able to be a comfortable and capable cruiser.

Nope. 450 hp today isn't that great and at the RS level, I don't think it's quite enough. It's not actually enough in the S6...which really needs to hit the 520 ish HP mark to do it right, with The RS going to 610+ creating plenty of gap between the S and the RS. If you drop down to the 5, it shouldn't be much of a drop. I'm not asking for 610 here. But if you are going RS at the 5 level, that ought to stack up to about 520 HP. And the S5 could be around 400-450. And, as has been stated, you don't put plastic paddle shifters on ANY version of an Audi RS model.

steve gant lol. Personally I don’t think it makes a blind bit of difference. Apparently it all started in medieval times when men rode horseback. They would ride on the left so their right hand was free to draw their sword to strike down anyone untoward. Not sure if it’s true, but sounds plausible

As a old rs5 owner, I really wish Audi could try a little bit harder on this line. The car is fine by itself, but when you put it against c63s and m3/m4, the car has no advantages at all (maybe better looks, which is what attracted me in the first place)

I have been wanting to like the RS5 for a while, but it jut doesn't generate the pulse quickening excitement that mention of an TTRS, RS3, RS4, RS6, or RS7 has in the past. Improve the plasticky A4 interior and give it 500 HP and the controls it deserves so it stops looking like a 2dr A4 with badging.

80% on you if you bought this car would never track it. This car is better than the m4 and c63 in every way as a daily driver and it looks better than both. Plus it’s faster when you have some chump pull up next to you at a red light. That is all that matters haha.

Plus everyone and I mean everyone has an m4 or c63 amg.

If you need more safety and live in a climate with rain/snow, you can buy a BMW 3/4 model with X-drive. If you want more performance you can buy the 340 X-drive.

But I guess most people buy a sporty model (M3/4) to enjoy what it can offer over its base models. You want it to be FUN to drive, even at low speeds and not only at ludicrous speeds. You enjoy the handling, and NOT how it drives in rain/snow.

The all-weather capabilities of Quattro seem to be the main reason people buy an RS Audi over a BMW or Mercedes. Because it's always mentioned in these discussions. People never start with "but it's so fun to drive" or "it handles so much better". It's always "it's fast and safe in all kind of weather".

Quattro was always (and still is) a MUST HAVE in Audi front engine models because of its faulty design with the ENTIRE engine in front of the front axle. Like the old 911 but even worse. It's the infamous built-in understeer. A FWD-only Audi is almost impossible to drive. The later models with torque vectoring and a tone of electronic help manage the understeer better. According to Audi themselves, they have for many years tried to move the engine back in these models but it has not been easy. At least they gave up the 50/50 power and went the BMW way with more power to the rear axle to make it more like a RWD car and more fun to drive.
