I wish the U.S. would quit bein retarded about about emissions and safety standards among other things so that we could enjoy some of the unique and pretty kick ass rigs yall have down there.

People need to read the owners manual first, LMFAO. I have always liked Nissan Patrols and want to own one and mildly modify it for fishing, camping and light-medium 4x4ing. The new ones look rather shit compared to the older models, yet, I much prefer the older ones due to them being better looking, having more aggressive body-lines and stance. Typically, a Patrol sounds awesome compared to a Toyota, however, I do like Toyota's, just not as much as a patrol though, Cheers for the video bud :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong; When it comes to engines Toyotas a little better but when it comes to axles and running gears those of patrol's are everlasting.

Whilst I haven,t owned a Nissan Patrol I have a few friends that have and all of them without exception say they have been 100% reliable even after quite a lot of abuse, all have been Patrols with solid front axles and include some with leaf springs, the only slightly negative comment being the smooth 6 cylinder petrol engine is a bit thirsty.

Love the Patrols, got myself a VW V10TDI Touareg with Air Suspension Centre Diff and Rear Diff lock. Absolute weapon off road but suspension travel is non existent.

Only because they’re a petrol V8 that’s required to run on premium fuel.

The Y62 looks uglier than a hat full of assholes, similar to a Great Wall or Sanyong. These car manufacturers have lost the plot thinking that those vehicles look pleasing to the eye. Just about all new cars look like shit and the same nowadays.

Hi Pat! In september were coming to Perth and we want a Nissan Patrol for sure. Planning to buy a 2005 and on model with the facelift because of the resolved problems with the ZD30 grenade engine. Are there any other common problems or things to check out while inspecting the car? Hoping you can give us some awesome tips and tricks. Regards Natasha & Hans from the Netherlands.

Make sure you don't buy an ex mining vehicle i.e. any white vehicle. The mines in WA water there haul roads with salt water from under ground so the vehicle will have rust and compromised electrics. Also company vehicles have had an extremely hard life. Trust me, I'm a mine worker. Hope this helps.

That isn't engaging 4x4, it's locking the hubs manually instead of automatically. You would recognise the tool if you've ever removed wheel nuts...

Just like Graham Cahill at 4WD Action in the Isuzu, sponsorship dollars pays the bills.

Plus, Y61 exited the market a few years ago now so there is no point promoting it.

Nissan Patrol 1998 TI - Bloody ripper of a 4WD it is so comfortable on road and off road it is a tank. Having owned a number of 4WD's from Toyota, Mitsubishi not taking anything away from them they were good vehicles and did not let me down. The Patrol 98 TI has that extra wow factor for me.

However, at the end of the day, everyone has their special 4WD, no matter the make, style or year, if it does what you want it to do that, is all that counts ................... So just get out there and get some dirt between your tread.
      Happy 4WD'ing to all ..........................

I am the owner of a 98Ti, got it third hand, It's seen years of abuse it's seen all sorts of unholy things and yet it still keeps on going, The leather is a bit worse for wear and the drivers seat needs replacing but at the end of the day when i got absolutely lost in the dark and all alone in a forest, It never let me down
