Track reports are bullshit. Seriously! For everyday drivers, who cares if one car is faster than the other by half a second? In my opinion, the SRT looks heaps better than the Toyota looking Commodore. It has shit loads more safety features, a better-looking interior and a more powerful engine (not to mention the new 8-speed transmission). It won't stop me buying the 300 SRT, despite losing on the track. I am finding these reports very biased these days, just like most Australian journalism.

I'd still take the SRT. Its not a plastic kiddy car.

      HSV - 200 kgs lighter, tyres, 255/35 1min23.1s
      300 - tyres 245/45 = 1min24.6s

it would be interesting if the rubber was matched, then a couple of passengers thrown in the commodore to even out the weight.
the 300 represents far better value for money and is a shit load more comfy!

He he, they are both boxes. The Holden looks dated to me. The 300 is a classic look, there's nothing on the street that looks like it.

The clubsport does everything better; It goes better, brakes better, handles better, looks better and has much nicer interior... SRT is a piece of shit compared to the hsv.

I'm in the position to judge both brands because I've owned 3 Holden's and currently own a 300C. And let me tell you, I will never get another Holden again. I had two Calais's, sure they were nice but like most Holden's eventually things start to go wrong. The worst part is how often I needed to get new tyres when I never did a single burnout and drove normally. I've had the 300C for 3 years and still have the first lot of tyres on it that came on the car. Nothing has gone wrong and it drives like a dream. Bogans (I'm also Australian by the way) just get butt hurt when an American car beats an Aussie car.

Because you own a goddarn clubsport... SRT8 all the way. It's a Muscle car where as clubsport is literally a tuner specwise. Nobody makes a muscle car anymore dude. You will save money as well.

@jim....i agree, 300 srt is luxury...should have gone against caprice. They do this to promote the Holdens. My brother in law bought a clubsport a few years ago, nice car but after a few years it starts to fall to pieces.

Typical, the Chrysler isn't a race car, it has a lot of luxury options, how is this a fair comparison ? This sort of reporting has been going on for yonks, no matter how good the other car might be, the Holden takes the day.
