Now if Lexus could just make their infotainment screens pop up from the dash (ie BMW's, Audi), rather than be mounted so far in them, they'd bet set.

It's just taking them a while to do so.

+MrTheMiguelox True on the platform thing, I'm aware. Also, true on Audi being the FWD, but they at least offer Quattro AWD on most vehicle trims.

+ThinkOutsideTheCube That could be an option, sure. I just couldn't imagine someone looking to buy a Lexus for sporty driving experience, even if it's RWD. I'm glad your family found a decent car that fits your family's needs.

+Michael Lee I think the ES is at a perfect price point for the market. The Lexus GS is RWD with an AWD option and has multiple engine options if someone is looking for a sportier Lexus that competes with the 5 series.

+Michael Lee No it shouln't. It is FWD because it uses the platform of the toyota avalon, wich is an elongated version of the camry platform. That allows them to save a lot of money, and keeping the competitive price of the car. It is not a sports car, and it doesn't pretend to be. And btw the audi A4 and A6 are FWD.

+ThinkOutsideTheCube Completely off topic, but what do you think about the ES being a FWD car? I think for a nicely-appointed luxury vehicle, it should be RWD standard with AWD as an available option... similar to of German competitors.

How are the seats wearing so far? My moms 2013 RX has the real leather as well and with only 27k miles both front seat bolsters look like total ass. My parents don't notice/care but it always pisses me off when ever I see it. My Corolla has the Softex leather and so I would take that just because it doesn't wrinkle and get all ugly.
