The 7 seat version of the Tata Harrier codenamed H7X that has been seen in a lot of spy pictures was unveiled at Geneva Motor Show 2019. Now named Buzzard for the global market it is likely to have a different name in India. Hormazd Sorabjee has a first look at the car and talks about the styling and the all important third row.

      Tad Disapponting seems to me. 7 seater alright but looks like a small SUV, in fact dwarfed by its own Brethren Hexa by a big 128 mm, not to talk of Muscleman Safari Storme. For a 7 seater Road presence of this vehicle is surely an issue. On the road this 7 seater will be walloped by Alturus, Fortuner, Endeavor, MU-X or Safari Storme,.Torque is also only 350 NM same as Harrier, Power is 30 PS more.. Its just an overgrown Harrier with same DRLs Honeycomb grill Flared wheel arches etc. Why stretch a 5 seater to make it a 7 seater. Bring in some worthy replacement of the safari Storme- something big butch and powerful

      Buzzard (H7X) seems like an after thought to Harrier. Cramped third row and non-existent boot are major drawbacks! Was eagerly looking for H7X, but bit disappointed :-(. Tata do something.

      still it needs to be streched for 3rd row, whats the use if 2 or 3 passengers sitting in the end are crushed and dont feel comfortable. If u make an SUV, provide all features of SUV like Tesla's Falcon interors.
      Release TATA H2X as an EV version aswell soon with 250km- 300km Range.

      Tata will have to trannsform its after sales services to an extend what maruti has done with nexa. They should have rebadged their premium model and sell them as a complete new entity and that could have been a major turnover for company. I will not be able spend around 25 lac for a car which at the end of the day still be called a TATA

      They had such a great opportunity to smash all the critics with the 7 seat version, but again Tata has done some things which are poor in taste. The kink on window profile of the third window is a bad choice of curves. The tailight is underdesigned. Looks like someone just left the design midway so that he doesnt miss his lunch. Why does the top half of the rear taillamp finishes way before the bottom does. It would have looked so clean had the top half been extended. The rear attachment of the roofrail is pushing boundaries, in the wrong direction. Why did you choose skyblue for this beast? Could you have not given it a more meaty appearance? perhaps a graphite colour would do nicely. Given all that, the headlights first shown in the harrier, are not my favourite, these things are amiss, and I am sure a significant section of the crowd will share my thoughts. Tata - you had a great opportunity to make people lust for this car.

      Tata cannot name it Safari in the international market because Safari is used by Nissan’s best Flagship Suv the Nissan Patrol Safari which shares the platform and components of (Infinity QX80)

      2ndly the name harrier can’t be used in the international market because of Toyota harrier which shares its components and platform with (Lexus RX 350, RX 450).

      3rdly even Sierra can’t be used in the international market because of GM’s pickups and truck (GMC Sierra).

      Hence they had to come up with a weird sounding name buzzard.

      It will sell like hot cakes. If the difference between the standard 5-seater Harrier and the 7-seater Buzzard is about ₹2 lakh, this will rule the market.

      3rd rows have always been bit of a squeeze..this is no different..Buzzard will give Tata a boost in revenue sales as its based on Harrier..Tata still not making a proper rival to Fortuner Endeavor (size & wheelbase) & this likely to compete against CrV, SantaFe or Innova

      Santafea is not in this class.Its more expensive than fortuner.The base model of Santafea starts at 32 lakh and and ends at 43lakh ex showroom. while Fortuner's top model is 31 ex showroom price.
