Your review of the X3 helped convince me to purchase one! I’m very happy with the car, and searched far and wide to find one with the adaptive dampers. Very comfortable driving in comfort mode. I tried Sport Plus the other day and was amazed by the way the car turned into a sports vehicle. Lots of pep from the base engine, and the transmission is impeccable. Love your videos!

Which has a more refined ride? This one or the Velar?

Maybe the Macan or F-Pace is more engaging

Don't have your experience with other cars but have had this nearly exact car (black interior, black window trim usa exec m-sport) for almost a year now. Really digging all your praise, and have this same elation every time I drive it! Thanks.

That is the biggest problem with BMW cars !! it encourages the driver to drive like a loony, as demonstrated by yourself, this is why a lot people hate BMWs as I do, because they think they own the road, and everyone should get out of their way !!
The new X3 looks boring, same old, same old, couldn't give a shit it drives around a corner at 70mph with screaming tyres, it's an SUV for F---k sake, you don't buy an SUV just because it goes round corners quicker than all the rest, if that is your priority, get yourself a BMW 3 series estate, same room, better handling, cheaper to run.
What is the point of an SUV ? will someone tell me... thank you...Kris I think you are losing the plot, by that I mean '' The reason why anyone would buy an SUV'' sorry, ok, I'll calm down now :-)

If you drive an XC60 with the Rdesign suspension you’ll find that the driving experience is quite similar to that of the X3 with the adaptive suspension.

Depending how do you define criteria for the best!
SUV is not a sports car but still in that category cornering ability is critical and them the Audi will be the winner, thanks to it small ground clearance. Forester will be the winner in the off road discipline. Volvo will lead balanced drive with comfort and robust cornering.
      What else?

colinf1951 More and more customers recognize that so called handling is not everything and I am with you.
But please read my post in the Q&A part of the Kris’s review where you can find my post with real technical, measurable comparison of the x3 and some other SUVs, including xc60. And then you will find that the mythical domination of BMW in the driving capability is just stereotype copy-pasted by many. It is not bad, that is sure but it is not the best!

Spot on sir ;-) why oh why do these testers go on and on about handling ! as you say it's an SUV, if you want the best all-rounder then the X3 is NOT the best, it excels in handling yes, but that is secondary for Mr & Ms Average, Looks, comfort, quality, usefulness, off road ability which includes extra ground clearance over a Wagon (Estate) 240mm for the XC90 and 212mm for the X3 so which will be best off road ? this ground clearance on the XC90 could make all the difference in a tricky situation !
95% of potential customers will be more than happy with the handling of the XC90, but with the added ability on extra rough terrain, the XC90 ticks more boxes for the average buyer than any BMW will ever do, simply because the emphasis on a BMW is always the handling and driving experience over anything else.
Whereas Volvo take the whole picture and produce a vehicle with a far more ''rounded ability'' compared to most other manufacturers, and not forgetting the safety angle at the same time !! Volvo for life :-)

Kris, How many takes did you need to properly recite this X3's full model name in your intro?
