Traction on the RDX is not as good as Lexus on this one. Other than that its a great SUV!

Well this makes me glad I have my Ford Edge Sport. It's quicker, sounds better, and was a bit cheaper OTD with extended warranty and maintenance. Surprised that this took about 7 seconds to make 0-60 when mine is just a hair over 5 at sea level. My Edge just keeps pulling like a freight train way passed 60. This RDX looked to die out a bit. Really like the way they programmed the transmission though. Looks like it does a pretty good job. Interior is quite nice as well. I test drove the last RDX model and was shocked by how much road noise there was. Mine is a ton quieter but it also has active noise cancel stuff going on too.

Owned a brand new Ford Edge Sport, it was junk. Interior was no better then a rental fusion. Mine was in the shop for 6 of the 8 months I owned it. Ford eventually took it back and refunded all of my money. Maybe the Edge is a tenth quicker to 60. Good luck with yours! No comparison to the new RDX by the way.

I mean I'd get this for my wife it's a nice travel car. But the design isn't as nice as infinity, Lexus, maybe not even the Nissan hatchback. Even the Toyota Venza is much better

      ChuckTay23 In reply to ChuckTay23

Dennis Xu nah man I don't own the Venza I just believe Toyota is winning across the border dude and that's a fact but it isn't a fair one considering Acura doesn't put out enough models hardly any good ones anyways. But yeah man if you don't think the rdx is a poor mans version of the MDX that's all you bra I could care less my guy. All I know is Toyota/Lexus >>>> Honda/Acura any day lmao the nsx is nice af though. Weird but nice af. Never for that price

The RDX isn't a poor man's MDX. It's a smaller crossover for those that don't need as much space and want lower running costs. With your logic you might as well say the same for a X3 and X5, or GLC and GLE. Obviously people are only going for the X3 and GLC because they can't afford the bigger ones, right? That's how moronic your point is. And let's continue, the Venza is a POS, hence why it was discontinued. You must be one of the few that purchased one and that's the reason you're so defensive about it.

Dennis Xu bruh. LMAO. The Venza pack is cheap compared to the rdx?!? This is a joke right lmao I've driven both cars you've got to be joking me. I mean ppls opinion is to be their respected opinion like you said, but stating what's completely obvious.. The Venzas body shape is far more unique than that xb wannabe. The rdx is for people who can't afford the MDX. And like the dodge and mustang lineups id say if you can't afford the r/t or 5.0 why even bother

Venza is dead and rightfully so with that cheap interior and God awful exterior. I get you have a different taste, but come on, Venza as a better designer car, really?

Matthew Liu hahaha anyone who would take this poor design over the MDX is clearly suffering from some kind of delusion. I don't care about the price difference I would rather pick another car.

China has already stopped the sale of Honda's with the 1.5t engine and are planning a 350,000+ vehicle recall to fix the problem. So no, the oil problem I speak of is not a myth, but a fact. The difference between the Chinese and the Americans is that we have a much stronger social media presence thanks to Weibo and Wechat. News like this circulates very fast. If there was as much steam on this issue in the States and Canada, Honda would have long ago issued a recall here as well.

      For your reading enjoyment:
      https://www.google.ca/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1FW124

I understand that you're an owner of the 1.5t engine and any negative news about it doesn't leave a good feeling, but I can assure you that the things I say are purely meant to inform people of the problems that do exist. The more people that know about it, the higher the number of complaints, and the higher chance Honda will issue a recall to fix it. No one wants any problems of any kind with a new car.

+The Best Boy The issue you speak of is more myth than fact. There's been no recalls, and some very specific circumstances have to be in place for the problem to materialize - and even then, worst case you get an oil change sooner than you need to. Note this engine has an oil quality monitor sensor, so the risk really is self-mitigated... and again, might simply send you for an oil change a week or two sooner than otherwise.

I own a Civic Hatch with the 1.5T, and that engine has been downright brilliant.
Even being a prior Civic owner, I was afraid to get something that small - I needn't have worried.
It's a blast. This particular motor is fun.

"Fun" is also a reason I wouldn't get a CRV or an RDX over a Civic hatch... but I also still thumb up your comment to John, because the point is valid - Acura really doesn't do "badge engineering". It's a whole different powertrain, and come on - compare interiors. This RDX interior is one of Acura's bright spots. It's a wholly different experience than a CRV, and leaves a wholly different impression on the driver, passengers, co-workers, and parking lot attendants alike. Unlike Mercedes and BMW, Acura doesn't gouge you - it's not even very expensive.

Ackshually, you don’t have a crappy CVT with the RDX and you get a Type R motor. Those factors alone are enough for me.
