Too much weight class mismatch. Some are straight out SUVs and some are CUVs. eg. HRV is the honda entry to pit against Kona. XV/Crosstrek is actually somewhere in between a CUV and SUV. Slightly bigger than an SUV and slightly smaller than an SUV.

If you buy one of these be sure to slap on a “I am auto illiterate” bumper sticker to warm actual drivers that you are an NPC.

If the Grand Cherokee is gonna make this list, I'm gonna interject and say that 2017 Volvo T6 XC-60's can be had for the same price.
There's definitely some older tech in there- Volvo reworked a lot for the 2018 models- but it's still a Super+Turbocharged Volvo that can pump 300hp and 300ft-lb of torque. And it's a Volvo, so you're basically impervious to harm.*
If you're lucky you can find one with the 1,500 watt speaker system.

      * - Please don't test whether Volvo's actually make you immortal. They don't.

Aren't these all mid size SUVs outside of the Kia Soul? They're not cross overs. They're SUVs, except the Kia Soul. That's in its own class.

All the automotive journalists and car enthusiasts hate the RAV4. But one cannot deny that it’s one of the most reliable Crossovers with a tried and proven engine and transmission that will last forever. Plus it gets adaptive cruise and lane keep assist on the base model.

(I’m not saying it’s fun or good looking, because it’s not)

Ahmad Abu Sneineh yeah, according to kbb, car and driver and CR, it's a subcompact, going into the same category as the Hyundai Kona, Toyota CHR, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, Jeep Renegade, Honda HRV, Subaru Crosstrek, Chevy Trax, Mazda CX3, and Ford EcoSport. (I'm sorry if I forgot any others)

RAV4 Hybrid, XLE or SE, replace / sell the OEM tires, tint the 1st row, and drop in a K&N Filter. 32 MPG Combined is nothing to cry about even with these insane gas prices. Unlike Honda Toyota has some decent manufacture offers.

The Grand Cherokee is pretty decent in it's base model and if you add the uconnect you get basically a top of the line without the leather dash. definitely a decent car at a good price.
I called the FCA dealer asking them about them and he said in his own words "I'm not in love with all Chrysler products but the Grand Cherokee is definitely a solid choice....now the 200 is a different story."

The Grand Cherokee is a uni-body vehicle and has been since it's inception in 1992. It is. therefore.. a crossover.

    • JCA
JCA In reply to Mr. Ash

The only thing the RAV4 offers is reliability. It's a very old design in every ways when it is compared to CRY or CX5. Cheap looking interior, poor driving dynamics and so so fuel economy. If reliability is the most important to the buyer, RAV is a good choice. If not, the CRV and CX5 are far better buy. This will change when the 2019 RAV goes on sale and then it should get on the list.
