The Honda Civic Type R is the car enthusiasts have wanted for over two decades ever since the Acura Integra Type R was last sold here. The Type R has the record for a front wheel drive car around the Nurburgring, setting a time of 7:40.03. To make a run like that possible Honda has added a lot of aerodynamic ground effects and a massive rear wing. This is what makes this car a bit controversial, is it a car that appeals to a wide demographic. It certainly has a polarizing design.Powering the Honda Civic Type R is a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder with 306hp and 295lb.-ft. of torque, with all the power going to the front wheels through a manual 6-speed manual transmission and limited slip front differential. The Honda Civic Type R starts at $41,000 in Canada and represents a solid value considering how well made the car feels.

YOU SHOULD CALL YOUR VIDEO: "TRY DESPERATELY TO FIND CONS FOR THE TYPE R..."
THE CAR IS PERFECT! STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT UNECESSARY DETAILS. AND LET THE WING ALONE! THERE IS A REASON FOR THAT!

This car is the definition of a daily driver and probably the best one money can buy. It has the most practabilty and usable street power out of any car on the market today

If you are debating whether to get this car, and you love pure driving without a lot of gadgets but need a practical daily driver, you will love this car. The only downside is that you become a little paranoid about the tires. You will memorize every pothole and manhole on your commute as you learn to avoid them!

The car is a wonderful package overall and I would get it in a heartbeat if the exterior was not so vape-pen-hat-wearing-backward like. It's embarrassing getting into this car when parked in the street.

Sure, you can daily drive it. Just keep in mind it's going to get poor MPGs, premium fuel & high insurance rates. If those things concern you, then just buy an Civic SI.

Performance is outstanding for a 2.0 lts, maybe the wing is too much for people above 35 and the dashboard way too generic.

Would not pay 30k without a wing on the type R. Who wants a gt3 without a wing. Gt3s are suppose to look like the gt cars not highway cruisers

Hype? LMFAO...Honda has hit rock bottom. Type R is nothing more than an enlarged Toyota Prius with a turbo and GINORMOUS STI wing replica...yea, a 5yr old's 2d drawing of a sports car looks better. Hideous Hunch Back of Notre Dame...

You have to admire the crazy styling of this car, but over all for me I think its ugly from a few angles. Also I believe its cost £35000 in the UK which is very expensive. Still it is a quality made product from Honda.

I’m 51. I would own one. I would prefer AWD but it’s not a deal breaker. I own a 2013 BMW 328i xdrive. Great car. Very reliable and well made. Plenty quick and it drives great. This Honda is nice.

Best car to learn manual on is a diesel VW. The low end torque makes it difficult to stall it out.
