People are dumb for even thinking 1000 horsepower was a selling point for Toyota it’s not. If it was I don’t think hybrids would be being pushed as much as it is right now 😂

No one ever gave it a fucking chance is why it still pissed me off how closed minded people can be like my god it just came out toyota doesn’t give out horsepower to just anyone 😂 1000 horsepower isn’t it’s main selling point and I think people forget that when thinking of the word Toyota 🙌

These juvenile and ignorant comments about the 2020 MKV A90 Supra are absolutely asinine. Most of the people commenting have never even owned a MKIV Supra much less a MKIII and are basing their opinions and judgment on far too much misinformation that was posted through many questionable sources online. Let's just get a few things straight here. The 1993-1998 US spec MKIV twin turbo Toyota Supra was not 100% Toyota either. It's 2JZ-GTE cast iron block and aluminum head engine was co-engineered with a German engineering firm called Johann Krause back in the early 90's. The MKIV twin turbo Supra also had a German transmission from a company called GETRAG, which the company now goes by the name Magna PT. Lastly the twin turbos on the MKIV twin turbo Supra were co-developed by Hitachi and Toyota. There is 35% German DNA in the iconic MKIV Supra so, where is the bashing on it? It didn't have a Toyota transmission and Toyota outsourced their block for final development and reliability to a German engineering firm who oddly enough engineered lots of BMW motors as well back in the 90's.

I think most of you who commented 7-9 months ago on this video are eating your words now LOL. Have you seen what's been going on with the MKV lately? Already running 9's on stock block and transmission for less than $5,000 in bolt-ons. Lot's of 10 second MKV now too with under $3,500 in bolt-ons. This year's SEMA show will be dominated by the new A90 MKV hands down. There are 1,000whp+ kits being R&D as I type this post. Pound for pound, the MKV Supra is light years ahead of the MKIV Supra sorry to burst the hater's entitlement of purity LMAO. The B58 and the ZF transmission are a wicked combo and Toyota did a fantastic job revising them to Toyota spec for the MKV. I spent $950 and I'm making over 460whp on my MKV with absolute reliability and the motor nor the transmission are even starting to break a sweat. 600-700whp on the stock B58 and the stock ZF transmission have already been done and it's just going up from here.

You can continue posting you ignorant comments (BMW innuendos) about the new 2020 Supra however, those of us who own them are really getting the best laugh of all.

Does no one realize that the BMW z4 makes more power and costs less the supra is a joke

So all the fanaticism is based on intangibles? Other than some very convoluted romanticizations, I honestly don't understand what the lure is with Toyota Celica Supra. Sure the 2JZ can make crazy power, but in terms of the GT road racing class it was designed for, the Supra was a flat out failure. Say what you want about the Subaru engine in the BRZ and the new Supra's BMW power plant, but in all reality Toyota made slower cars with the help of other manufacturers engines. The heavier AWD WRX walks all over the lighter RWD BRZ with the same engine, and the BMW M40i is faster than the Supra. Why, because these days real world road performance relies on engines that are specifically designed for the chassis they go into. For better or worse, the simpler days of auto manufacturing when they could stuff a 427 in an AC Ace sports car to make a Cobra are over.

Exactly, and who gives a fuck about their opinion anyway, so many un-educated wankers going on about z4 with a Toyota badge and all the other negative bullshit, if they could afford it they would want one, next 18 months you watch this car and it's performance go through the roof, can't wait to buy one

They took the soul of the Supra when they put out that POS. And yes, I've owned a few and have driven the 2020. I laughed at the sales manager when he promised me he would get his $20,000.00 over asking price. I told him he was crazy, that honestly I had no intention of ever buying one and had just come in to ensure I gave the vehicle an honest look before I spoke openly about the poor design and attempt to place the Supra name on this complete fail.

Toyota Emblem... Supra Nameplate... BMW everything else..... Toyota is smart at the mfg game but INSTEAD OF BRINGING BACK a Japanese Inline-6 they settle for a BMW.... such a disgrace to the old 7M-GTE, 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GTE engines and the supra name..... if Toyota made their own straight-six again i would be all for this but no... just no... this new supra has no soul....

Truth is Toyota can't replace the 2JZ and knows no one care about Hybrid. Honda messed the NSX up so bad and so has Toyota! Nissan will be next and so forth! Next is all EV and everyone will be talking about how to add KW to your Battery for longer range and adding more coils to make HP.

Soooo, this Wednesday right after the new C8 Corvette was announced, Toyota dealerships all over the US have been flooded with calls to return Zupra deposits. Sorry Supra bro, Toyota dropped the ball hard on this one. New Zupra is giant expensive turd like the new NSX. You guys even remember that car? I have literally not heard anyone on youtube mention the NSX since it launched in 2016. New Zupra will be forgotten in 2 months.

BTW saying Toyota knows how to make a sport car in a HEAVILY MODIFIED car kind of disproves your point.

Last point, strawman arguments are an extremely weak form of rebuttal. No one thinks stock 1994 Supra came out the factory with 1000HP, which would be way more than a McLaren F1 618Bhp. Most people love the Supra because it looks beautiful and was affordable. Most people dream about awesome things they have a strong possibility of actually owning. Same reason original NSX and Skyline were so loved.

At least the GT-R lived up and surpassed the hype. We’re 1/3.
