What's your favorite midsize truck? GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridgeline?
Or are you waiting to see what the new Ranger has to offer?

Farmin’ with Chevy Trucks You’re right... the ZR2 that Chevy gave Jeff earlier this year must’ve been a preproduction model

I have this truck because I want a nice truck but I live in an apartment and I’m not able to get a full size truck in my parking garage. I know many people that want trucks but don’t have a place large enough to park it.

I just put a deposit on one. I wanted full leather which I couldn’t get in anything but the Zr2 (which had a lot of cons for me). I couldn’t see getting a new truck without some driver assist features. I def don’t like the 20” low profile tires though. The Denali’s seating/interior alone pretty much did it for me. Maybe I’m a fool-we’ll know in a bit, lol.

You need to hop off the Colorado. It’s not even that great of a truck in itself.

I think this is too expensive for no reason indeed, but I do like to see it most, I would get it mainly for the looks, I also find45 grand too much for a mid size truck that doesn't offer all that.

I own a fully loaded ‘16 slt and got a pretty good deal on it... I agree with all of your points, but the canyon just outweighs the colorado in my opinion- just a biased one

$45000 and a stick and stab key instead of keyless? typical GM...make it just "good enough".

Just picked up a Canyon all terrain in white I love it. Also I’d get all terrain because you get z71 options and you get carbon fiber walk leather around the seats with all terrain badging everywhere and red stitching anywhere it could go

I can't park the Sierra in my garage. The height and width on the sierra wont allow it. I live in the north and won't shovel snow if i dont have to, no matter how much i love the car. So this truck, that will fit, makes sense for me

I personally previously owned a Canyon Denali and absolutely loved it. I’m sure you realize that GMC wouldn’t produce this vehicle if it weren’t targeting a certain demographic. I am of a minority in your mind it seems!

I am trying to figure out what you are trying to tell us. "Why get the Canyon when you can get a Colorado?" Isn't that the same thing as saying Why get a Sierra when you can get a Silverado? or when Pontiac was made Why get a Firebird when you can get a Camaro? It's a matter of preference.

Not to mention a fully loaded sierra is almost $72 grand where this is $45 grand. I wonder if that makes any difference, hmmm.

    • Necrotic Reaper
Necrotic Reaper In reply to Daniel Davis

Not really. Like the Sierra has more features than the Silverado, not just a upgraded exterior/interior.

This dosen't really add anything significant over the Colorado, and for the price you could just get a Sierra 1500 SLT.

I would say the turbo diesel is the way to go. For truck stuff and daily driving you'll get much better fuel economy and hauling and towing stuff it'll work great.

GMC Canyon does need something more, but GM is too busy doting over Chevrolet. I'm still looking at the Canyon Denali because I want the heated and cooled leather seats, etc. and I always thought that the GMC grills look better than the Chevy grills. I think the price comparison isn't far because an equally optioned up Colorado Z71 is basically the same price as the Denali. Also I wanted to like the Taco, but the seating is weird, cramped and being 6'2" I don't like staring out the top 3 inches of the wind shield. It's the same way in the Tundra. The Canyon\Colorado is much more comfortable, I'm looking out a normal spot in the wind shield and plenty of space in the rear seat on the crew cab with me up front. I can actually put the seat back far enough that I can't reach the pedals. lol

Looks like the room in the back seat may be a little larger than the Colorado. They tried to give us a Colorado as a loner truck while our truck was being serviced and with our daughter in a booster seat her legs wouldn’t fit between the front seat and her booster. Very small backseat.
