Time for something a little bit different, the 576bhp Vauxhall VXR8 GTS; the least expensive way to enter the 500bhp+ club. Starting out as the Holden GEN-F GTS in Australia, the car finds its way to the UK under the Vauxhall name.

Following my trip to Le Mans with Corvette, part of the GM group, I started talking to the team from Vauxhall who invited me along to give the VXR8 GTS a drive. Sitting in a category alongside the BMW M5 or Mercedes E63 AMG, but priced at £20k less, it's certainly an interesting prospect and when you consider the price tag... well... it's nearly 600hp, has an amazing sounding V8, and it's under £60k!

I introduce the car, take it for a quick test drive and offer some early driving impressions, before showing you around in a little more detail.

Thanks for watching, Tim

I'd love to see a photo shoot that gets a Vauxhall VXR8 GTS, Holden Commodore, and a Chevy SS together.

That looks like a muscle car. Sounds like a muscle car, at half the price of a most europan cars of equivalent power. Take the car to walkinshaw performance, spent another $10000 and you have a porsche 911 beater

The Vauxhall “Griffin” is in fact the Holden Lion logo, the racing helmet and lion being HSV’s (Holden Special Vehicles) logo.

Actually the indicator stalk is on the right side because its Holden made and built, most cars in Australia have the indicator on the right side. It has nothing to do with it being Vauxhall, afterall none of their other cars have this feature.
