I did not learn anything about land cruiser or its capabilities from this review! and still, I wonder why top gear was one of the least credible auto shows ever....

I used to work for a Lexus dealership. We often get the old trade in Land Cruiser or LXs. Many of them way over 300k miles easy, and still running strong, still worth a lot of money!

I grew up with a 2004 100 series. The 2UZ-FE V8 always put a smile to my face. We owned it for over 310K miles before we decided to donate to charity due to the repair bills getting too expensive (rust belt state) someone bought it at auction for 10 grand back in 2016! Allegedly, it gets to live offroad up in Maine!

You are absolutely right. I presently own a 1995 RRC LWB 25th Anniversary, 2002 Disco, 1989 Land Cuiser fj62 and 2000 100 series Land Cruiser. Both Land Rovers have spend more time at the repair shop than on the road. My 89 Fj62 has 343,065 miles. I will drive 3hrs(very slowly n sucking gas as it was free) on a friday to hit the trails(blue/black) for the weekend, then on Sunday evening back home full of mud on another 3hrs ride home and yet Monday morning the Toy is ready to go. Land Rovers look beautiful, but Toys are very very reliable.

Yeah after the 80 series in America they literally became worthless off road with cv axles instead of solids I'm getting an fj62 but because the diesel was illegal here I'm going to have to import a 12ht for it and h55

Need some help from the community. We have a 2002 Land Cruiser with 105,000 miles. The differential lock does not engage when I press the button. Has anyone has this same issue and if so, how did you correct? Thank you, Frank

Hey Dipshit, When you put the transfer case in low in automatically locks the center diff. The switch is only to run center diff locked in high gear.

I was lucky enough to have an '85 Diesel BJ60. Adored it, and it's bullet-proof 4 cyl engine and rock n' roll attitude, but unfortunately the frame rusted out. This week I've returned to the family with a gorgeous black beauty 2000 LX470, with a rocket fueled V-8. Thank-you Toyota for creating one of the best lines of cars ever made.
