Few cars bridge social and economic gaps like the Honda Civic. No matter where you come from, odds are you've spent some time in or around one. Now in its ninth generation the venerable Civic eschews radical change in favor of measure evolution, carrying on as an efficient, reliable, and generally pleasant commuter for all.

Finding a clean 2011 Civic with low mileage is so hard. I gave up so I got a great deal on a super clean 2012 Ex with low mileage. I don't care though its still a Honda

2012 Civic EX is still a nice car. A white one with smoked rear taillights and 18'' wheels will make the car alot better.

Yep I have to say. 9th generation is much better looking and even the 5th & 6th look better. The 8th just looks unattractive and ugly looking. Everytime I see one I just want it to scrap or better yet would like the owner to trade in the 8th generation to the 2016s. I have so many reasons why I don't like the 8th.

I have the 2012 LX model. I have put on 100,000km and I have only done basic maintenance. It is a basic, good, and reliable car. The interior is kind of plasticy and the seats could be more comfy. But other than that it is good for getting around and is quite fuel efficient. Ive driven from Canada to Mexico in this car through mountains, deserts, snow, and rain. It is like a little donkey that just keeps going.

My only real complaint is it's kinda tight inside, but then I'm also a fat bastard, and my civic is a coupe.

Went from a SH*TY Ford Focus (literally fell apart on me after 160,000 miles) to a 2012 Honda Civic and I'll never look back. Had to put two new exhausts, heat shield became loose constantly, alternator, clutch, ignition coil, ignition lock, brakes sucked, interior was cheap AF, axles replaced twice, and I could keep going on the 2004 Focus). Honda civic is a great car!

Mines automatic and I drive conservatively, the average in the dash is 32mpg. I just drove from las vegas to oakland and I stopped once and bought half a tank. 9 hours and around 550 miles for $60.The air filters I just clean, if you take it to a mechanic they are hella cheesy about air filters. You could bring it in with brand new ones and their say you need new ones.

@parker bennett I feel like you're contradicting yourself. I have 2012 Honda Civic LX with 5-SP manual transmission hitting 84,000 Km. So far, I have done Engine Oil Changes, One Manual Transmission Fluid Flush, Air Filter and Air Cabinet Filter replacement. I need to do Brake/Clutch oil change but other than that, this car drives like brand new. I don't have amazing gas mileage but it is much better than my previous Pontiac G6 (3.5 L). I get about 640km/45L tank.

@parker bennett Ya but you have to spend that much for any car. If anything, the civic has the cheapest maintenance out of any car.

parker bennett In reply to parker bennett

Yeah it was like 120 for two oil changes, 800 for tires, and 110 for a battery around 1000 something like that. The oil changes are expensive.

The one problem I have with Honda is that I feel like you don't get what you pay for if you buy one new. The only thing you get is its dependability. You kinda have to break the bank to get navigation, leather seats, etc.
