*Wtf is wrong with Toyota. No full electric SUV/vehicles. Whole world is going with full electric and they are stuck with hydrogen cell. Where the hell can we find safe infrastructure for hydrogen management quickly available in abundance, it's transport etc and hydrogen filling stations. Wtf Toyota. I wanted to buy one reliable, new age, good to atmosphere, for next 15 years, king size SUV. REALLY TOYOTAAAAAAAAAA!!!! HAHAHAHA*

After test driving, we like the old generation way better (2016). Our 3 year old RAV, handles better, is sportier to drive and has steering that is super responsive. Newer isn't always better. Besides, never buy the first year of new gen.

how is a brake hold a quirk? that's one of the most useful feature of late model vehicle. And the so-impressed forward collision mitigation and ACC (with low speed follow), came standard in base model civic hatchback

That tablet stuck on the dash board will not age well. Unfortunately this seems to be the trend. Mazda did the same thing, but this screen is even more obtrusive.

The split panel is because it makes the panel cheaper to repair, thereby lowering it’s insurance rating.

Excellent review of a newer vehicle. But I think the 2008-2012 v6 would beat the 2019 in a drag race.

However, I would steer people away from this one until IIHS test it in its battery of crashes. Despite the high tech features, it will be interesting to see how it performs in the small offset crash on the passenger side. It performed poorly with deliberate negligence of extending the bumper beam like it did on the driver’s side with the previous generation from 2015 on.

I believe that there’s only one pouch on the back of the front seats because most people spend more time in their car alone so why put a pouch where you can’t reach it when you’re by yourself in traffic.

The reason it has all the driver assist tech is that the world is moving toward driverless cars being mandatory and manufacturers are hoping they can develop the standard that becomes legally mandatory. That way they can charge royalties.

The worst thing about the modern RAV 4 is that they long ago got rid of the van floor and removable seats. It was seriously one of the best options available in any small SUV. More car makers needs small SUVs with the van style rear.

Doug keep doing what you do ...your reviews are straightforward ..simplified, but also very detail-oriented and you don't overlook the important parts of a car that allows a prospective buyer to get a feel for what the automobile is about ....oh, it's a shame you couldn't have titled your Channel "Every goddamn car in the world for dummies", because you get so many butt heads who don't know shit about cars spouting off. Thanks and keep up the great work. This old army vet.. my first taste of fine automobiles was when I was 24 out of the army and my client had leased me a Porsche 930 Turbo with a manual transmission from Braman Motors in the Palm Beaches. I don't think anything will ever come close to that, because I was at an age, 24 when having a hot shit car meant something. Not one of these old crackerz driving a Bentley here in the Northeast in Greenwich Connecticut where I live now. Also having a car like that in Florida was awesome because it was a convertible. Memories just memories now. Cheers

I really appreciate being able to turn off the rear cargo light. I have a RAV with the side swinging rear door but the light is on the door. So basically if the light is on its lighting up the space behind the RAV and shining in your eyes. Useless so at least I can shut it off.
