In this video I give a short tour and test drive of a 2003 Toyota Highlander. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this suv while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I show the suv idling as well as take it on a thorough test drive through the city and highway on various surfaces. A thorough drive of this suv designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I have an 01 highlander 4 cylinder that my family bought brand new. Im taking care of it by getting the struts replaced, new brakes, new fuel injectors, new spark plugs, new rear rotors, it rides smoothly and has over 320,000 miles on it. It's taking care of me and I'll take care of it back.

My Grandfather used to drive a 2004 Toyota Highlander with the dark blue exterior. I believe my Grampy’s Highlander has a grey cloth interior. My Grandfather traded in his Highlander in 2009 and bought a RAV4.

well i found a one owner all highway kilometers (268,000) i paid roughly $6500, but now that i look back at my purchase it wasn't the best overall decision, fuel mileage was poor, minor electronic malfunctions, but always ran fine, LOVED the high-beams at nighttime.

I sold it a while ago, now have my 2003 Honda Civic - have owned the civic for 3 years and its been the best overall vehicle i've ever owned, anyways i'm just going on and on. lol.

Is this a great car for those who want a vehicle that looks like and has the trunk space similar to an SUV, but drives like a sedan? I know the Highlander is based off the Camry platform.

+ZNormT6 You my friend have never driven a Toyota MR2 :)
Also, what's the price of a similar rear wheel bearing on a BMW SUV? :P

    • ZNormT6
ZNormT6 In reply to Abbas Ather

+curiosityuniversal I replaced the battery on my E90 myself. You just need to have the battery registered so the vehicle knows to adjust how it charges. That costs $30 at my independent BMW mechanic. Parts aren't too expensive for them. Considering that the rear wheel bearing is going out on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma and it is going to cost me nearly $700 to get it fixed at an independent mechanic. Although it does have 272,000 miles on it and has never left me stranded at the side of the road. The Japanese cars are much more reliable but the European cars are so much more fun to drive.

+ZNormT6 Yeah and you have piles of gold stacked in your basement safe....Service on them is a nightmare, parts are 3-4-5 times the price for other cars, and they are specifically designed to be difficult if not impossible for the owner to fix.
Saab had nightmarish electrical problems till the day they were shutdown for good, and did you know that on new BMW SUV's you have to take them to the dealership for a battery change because it needs to be computer matched with the vehicle's on board computer? Guess how much that costs lol...

Yes they may have been reliable back in the 80's and 90's but you need to stop fan-girling over them and realize they are absolute trash nowadays.

+curiosityuniversal I have a Volvo, BMW, Toyota and will be getting a Saab soon. They are all great cars. The European cars are all VERY reliable as long as they are properly cared for and well maintained.
