      Maybe it has the auto-synch that goes from 1st to 3rd at lower rpm's instead of 1st to 2nd. My '97 Trans Am had that. Frustrating

      Look at the size of the drive vrs driven. Larger drive small driven =over drive or high gear, small drive large driven = underdrive or low gears.
      1:1 is direct drive locking input shaft to the output shaft.

      That differs with transaxle because you cant lock into a 1:1 so they get it as close to 1:1 as they can so like 1.0001:1 or .998:1

      Watch this it explains it sort of, basically the only way you can change the gear without the clutch is if you are exactly in line with the gear teeth when it happens which never (very very unlikely) does, that's what causes the horrible noise hahah
      I do know that you are asking the question in jest at least but this is the answer if you were genuinely interested ;)

      3:40 because you physically can't change gear without discontinued powerflow. I was accidentally try few times on Lada 2111 and gearbox was make horrible sound...
