With over 50 years of history, the #ToyotaCorolla is easily one of the best-selling nameplates in the world with over 46 million units sold globally. Since #Toyota is enjoying so much success with the #Corolla, a new version of the sedan is a very important addition to the lineup. Thankfully, for 2020, the #CorollaSedan rides on the same TNGA architecture as the Camry, Avalon, Rav4, and Corolla hatch which means driving dynamics has greatly improved, a new 2.0L direct injection engine with 169 HP is available, and manual buyers can rejoice because a rev-matching 6-speed stick is available on SE trims for 2020. This generation also introduces a new hybrid trim with 121 combined horses and up to 53 MPG in the city. Historically, Toyota has also seen intense competition from Honda and Mazda so can this new Corolla raise the bar above its main Japanese rivals?

Wondering why you would use such a wide lens. Perspective distortion pretty much obscures what the car really looks like.

Looks like someone hit it in the mouth and gave it a fat lower lip. Ugly! Too many design elements on the ends and next to nothing on the sides.

For new generation, I actually prefer corolla over the Civic for both the engine and styling.

Well, it looks like the overall model was taken from the toyota yaris but they did well with the appearance.

I like the Corolla but can’t Toyota make it a lot sportier. I see so many young people driving the Honda Civic and to be frank it’s a much better looking vehicle. The Corolla still has elderly people behind the wheel. The civic comes in so many trims and options. Toyota has to upgrade this vehicle if they want young people to drive it home . Maybe Toyota will take care of business for the next generation, especially if they want the younger drivers to purchase one ☝️

I find it funny cars became cooler looking at the moment it time they will become obsolete in design. As auto drive takes over there will be no reason for a car to look and seat people how they do now... In fact I'd bet in 10-20 years people don't even own new cars as they simply taxi ever trip they take because they will be close by and cheaper by a long ways. No maintenance, no tags, no labor to drive it.

Some see this as the apocalypse, but I think they fail to understand simple economics on how lower prices make you richer while spending less, thus less work needed for "more." Today a rich person is defined by a privet jet and yacht... You can achieve everything else a rich person can outside of that.

Toyota SERIOUSLY underrates the fuel economy of these things. I have a 2020 SE model with the 6MT and I've been getting between 50-60 mpgs on the highway. It's insane, and driving in Vegas traffic everyday can eat gas pretty quick. Put 200 miles on it and I'm still at a half tank.

Great car. Fun to drive, rev matching is nifty, and it's a pretty cool looking car too. Toyota knocked this one out of the park, and I used to drive a 2000 Celica GTS 6MT before I upgraded. Still miss my leather seats though
