Atlas appears to be exactly the right vehicle that Volkswagen needs.

I gotta hand it to VW, they aren't doing the "overstyled" thing that all American and Jap cars are doing now. This truck, like the smaller Tiguan, are easy to look at, without the grotesque "big mouth" grills and all other body panels that look like they were designed by a meth-head w/epilepsy.

Lots of haters. Change the badge to Ford, Chev or Dodge and it will get rave reviews.... Maybe even change the color of it, such is the case with USA these days

It’s like, if you’re going to make bland, uninspiring looking cars, at least make them reliable. There’s literally nothing to recommend this or most VWs.

On the test track , I missed the part where the '60' to '0' braking was conducted. can only conclude that the braking must have been pretty bad. So now we have 'brakegate'.

NO ONE should even consider buying any Volkswagen product.  VW sold 11 million diesel vehicles around the world, promoting the performance and MPG, knowing full well that the cars were DELIBERATELY RIGGED to cheat the pollution control tests.  In real-world driving the cars were spewing 40 times the amount of pollutants they claimed.  This was a massive and intentional corporate crime against humanity.  And they repeatedly LIED about it when confronted with the facts. The company is a den of sociopaths.  VW does not deserve anyone's patronage. There are plenty of other car companies to choose from.  Please don't reward this company with your business.

Dude, what is it, lately, with VW? None of their cars look modern—they're all 7 years old upon their release.

I expect more out of a motorweek review! No gauges on the VW Atlas; no volt meter, no trans temp, no engine coolant temp, NO TPMS with actual tire pressure. The "Digitial cockpit is a joke, you can only view one thing at a time, and mostly pretty stuff for some bozo that only knows how to start a car and head it down the road. This is 1964 car with a glued on pink bow. Any and every modern car should have actual gaiuges not idiot lights. Also in a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere station wagon with a 318 V8 got better gas mileage. What a pile of crap VW spit out and it only has 27 years to come up with a better SUV than the Ford Explorer launched in 1991! Wake up America the SUV''s of today are nothing more than a van for a soccer mom with all wheel drive

8.5 to 60 ??? You can just imagine with 6 hefty folks and some luggage and how sad this tank would be . Over $40k for some boxy ,boring SUV? No thanks . There are several better than this and will much more reliable . Just seems like another 'dumbed down' vehicle for Americans ..VW , Das' Junk!!
