I can't say I was a fan of the '16 & up Camaro due to the front end styling, and it ranks right up there with the '19 Silverado with the weird front and back styling. My second issue with any newer vehicles is the price point, I mean why in the heck does a new truck or sports car cost more than my house? I live in the country, so its cheap and at this rate in the next few years all this price gouging is gonna cost six figures with styling that makes you scratch your head going, what were they thinking?

GM is turning so many people against them that they are going to have a very bad 2019! We will see Dodge make another big jump tp pass GMC and start closing in on the Chevy trucks. The Tacoma will have a big jump as well. I just finished an article where they polled people who are turning against GM. The Tacoma is a VERY popular choice for those people as well as the Dodge truck. I read a lot of people trying to blame the banks for GM needing the bailout. That is FALSE! GM was in a decline prior to the fall. If that were true why didn't Toyota need bailout money? GM is in a rut of poor quality! These new engines are as popular as Subtitles in a porn flick! Now with the latest MPG testing people are not getting even DECENT benefits out of their "new" but what is really "old" technology. Their closing plants because they want to move jobs to China. Why? GM now sells more vehicles in China then they do in America!! They sell 70% more vehicles in China to be exact! In the U.S. they sold for one month 245,387 vehicles. Sound good? Well...….no! In that same month they sold 418,225 vehicles in China!! Their money is in China and they are building their future in China! GM has laid off over 40,000 people lately and do it in a very nasty way. Chrysler is investing over 4 BILLION dollars in plant construction just outside Detroit! GM is laying them off and Chrysler is beginning to hire them! Suddenly a Dodge truck looks a lot better to people than a GM product! BY THE WAY GM!!! You still owe the taxpayers 11 BILLION dollars you scum bags!!! So basically, GM got the American tax payers to pay for their move to China!! They are now talking about job increases in China! Are you surprised? They are also getting busted for the lies that pour into their commercials. "This car received car of the year award!" Except when you read the small print it was the model from FIVE years ago! Not the one they are showing on the screen!

2013/14 Mustang styling was the best since 1968....the 2015 redesign looks so ugly, especially the rear. 2014 mustang gt has a very smooth ride and good viability vs a camaro

I'm a Chevy guy as well. I own a 71 Camaro RS, 2010 Camaro RS and a 2017 Chevy Volt. Is the Camaro going to die? Yes, why? Not because Mustang is the other option, its because a Tesla model 3 does it all. ICE is dead, any future R&D spent in any ICE platform is wasted investment, GM finally sees that but they are too far behind. The GM crate EV motor is a move in the rite direction but that is not going to get it done. The market is going to be flooded by insanely capable EV's and they will out perform and make more economical sense then high horse power uneconomical ICE cars. Its called a paradigm shift and its going to get very ugly from here in. Lastly, the dealership model (inventory) is a major problem for most big manufactures, the move to performance based logistics is the only way forward, build what you sell not the other way around.

SteevK69 Yes, having “ inventory” is a benefit to the dealer model, not the manufacturer or the end consumer. The consumer and the manufacturer pay for the middle man to exist, it is no longer needed, or wanted.

I think the problem is GM's building what they sell - SUV/CUV, pickups and FWD 4-6 cyl cars

Love the channel but you jumped the shark claiming the Cruze is better than the Civic. Those $800 turbos on the Cruze don’t even make it to 100k miles. That’s where we used car guys are always going to be able to give more educated commentary on models. I respect your loyalty and am a fan of some GM products myself, but let’s not go overboard.

The Camaro is an excellent car on an excellent chassis. My only issues with it are A) the interior (it's boring compared to the Challenger interior), B) visibility (the Charger, Challenger, and Mustang are better in this category), and C) the 8 speed and 10 speed autos (yes I can drive stick but I hate doing so) don't compare to the ZF 8 speed in the Dodge cars.

I definitely have to agree. I have a 2016 1ss. And it worlds ahead of any mustang I’ve ever driven. I feel way more connected to the road the steering input is spot on unlike the 2017 Mustang GT I drove a few months ago. It felt a little vague and Didn’t give much feed back. Over all it just felt like a heavier and not as track worthy I guess you could say car. Tbh the mustang didn’t feel much more capable in the corners than what my 2013 avenger sxt v6 did. That may be a bit dramatic being that I haven’t driven that car since I’ve traded it in a year ago. But man the camaro in my experience is just out of this world when it comes to the cornering and grip capability. When I first drove it I couldn’t believe the amount of grip it had. Even on all season tires. Now don’t get me wrong if I had the money I would own both the camaro and the mustangs but if I had to choose one...well you already know what I chose.

Big Chevy fan, just bought a 2019 Camaro 2SS; the new front end looks great in dark colors, but in light colors - just weird...

With blind spot monitoring and the new video rearview mirror; visibility is a non issue...

Still think GM chassis and engines are the best...!

Moving production to Mexico is killing the Chevrolet. GM President has made a huge mistake. I was going to buy a Camaro for my wife and the midengine Corvette when it comes out. Now I will buy neither.

I am a Camaro guy I have owned 1979 I bought a new Camaro in 1981 it only had a V-6 .Now I look back I wish I would have bought it with the V-8.I owned it until I bought another new one in 87 but it was also a V-6 l don’t remember how long I owned it.Back in 1998 I bought a 1984 Camaro Z-28 with low mileage. It had about 25000 miles on it but I dumped the 305 HO and I went with a 383 small block. I would so badly love to have me a new or maybe a used newer generation Camaro but I want it for sure to have a V-8 but they are way out of my price range. I do keep looking but I just cannot find anything out there that I can afford.

Of course I haven't seen all the comments, however, I would think a Cámaro based on the alpha platform (ATS) is cheaper, than using it for Cadillac. Haven't seen the sales numbers for the ATS, but I'm pretty sure the Cámaro's numbers are higher. As long as they keep the the formula; rear wheel drive/front engine, alive.... And manual transmission!!!

The reason mustang is out selling the camaro is because Chevrolet has taken that break and discontinued the camaro in 03....fast forward when they come back ford had already been running the OHC engines for over a decade. And even flirted with the dohc engines in the cobras in the mean time. Come up to the 5th gen camaro being released they were something to write home about they had a pretty powerful engine but they were so damn heavy. It would only be 2 years later that ford came out with the new coyote 5.0, they ran it and it was still new to the market, now fast forward some more and its 2018 and ford releases the new gen 3 coyote and offers a 10 speed auto, it wouldn’t be a year later and a horrendous refresh that Chevrolet would release the 10 speed. The reason ford out sells isn’t just because it’s cheaper, it’s because with what you’re spending you’re getting so much more car, a car with full bolt ons that can plant 500 hp to the rear wheels. If Chevrolet wanted to really save the camaro which they don’t, they’d restyle it yet again and bring in a new 7th gen camaro with 10 speed auto, the rumored 5.5 dohc engine that they have going in the c7 and then maybe they could start out selling the Ford Mustang. Oh and update the gauge clusters and interiors. The fonts have been the same on the speedo and tac for the last 20 years.

To be completely honest, there was discussion at CamaroFest 2016 about this very topic. Not only was it whispered that the 7th Gen’s future was in jeopardy, the 6th Gen Z/28 was rumored canceled too. It was also communicated that the ZL1LE would take its place and the 2019 refresh was extremely dumbed down. I tried to report this long ago.
