The Snowstorm February 5th and 6th 2010 dumped over a foot of snow here in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. My 2007 Subaru WRX has low profile summer tires on it. I wanted to see if I could get stuck in the snow....No such luck. I would really love to see how this thing would do with snow tires. I was just having fun in my parking lot but enjoy. This was filmed in High Definition

+Riley Woodhouse They are, I live 5 minutes from work and didn't want to spend money on snow tires. I also own a 2014 Dodge Charger R/T AWD that is heavy as a tank and plows through snow so I dont spend money on snow tires. Would I love to have them yes.. is it worth it money wise .. no so I dont put them on. Great observation though ;)

Dude! Your left-right LSDs are worn out! You're revving, but one of your wheels isn't spinning - that's a sign of an LSD gone.

+menschmaschine02 That's good to hear! +1 reliable subie out there! Also I went out and just educated myself and found out that only the STi has the front LSD (in addition to rear and center). https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CBwQFjAAahUKEwidqNX-mpHIAhVPCpIKHQxkA6Y&url=http%3A%2F%2Fm.awdwiki.com%2Fimages%2FSubaruSymmetricalAWD2.doc&usg=AFQjCNHioZOBSiOGX5zuteGSjf8TwGA-OQ&sig2=OvpB83FH1n6EiWPLjKaf8g&bvm=bv.103627116,d.aWw

You were probably losing all your power when your front-right got grip and all 3 other wheels had none.

That was informative. So you don't even need snow tires then and you could drive comfortably in just some generic all season tires. Good to know.

+ael96 10 Best part is when it snows it doesnt snow underneath your car ;) Have had it up on the lift multiple times as I work for a dealership and no rust. Good Observation though. As long as it is not parked where fresh snow is touching the frame you are fine. Cheers ael96 10

+TheDino117 Depends on you for example if you live where there is a lot of snow the sti would be a better choice the sti is a better choice too because it's more practical it has 4 doors bigger trunk it uses less fuel and insurance is cheaper stuff like that and it's cheaper to buy so it comes down to you i would pick the wrx sti

Pretty damn good for summer tires. I had summer only slicks (Achilles AT/R Sport) on my wagon. They stuck to the blacktop like glue and did ok on the dirt and gravel, but they were useless in the snow. If this was just with summer tires, you'll be crazy impressed when you put a set of snow tires on. Been using Firestone Winterforce's for years now and they are great for the price and last about 3-4 seasons (NOV-APR) before the tires finally lose too much grip and start darting out in the corners.

That's good to know about the Firestone WinterForce tires. I have them ready to put on my RAV4. I am gonna stud them too because I have read that on ice, there are better snow tires than these but, I don't know. what's been your experience?

Do you even think before speaking? Just wondering....If you have a life and a decent job, how the fuck would you get to work if you didn't "go out into the snow"??? And just so you are aware, a person can have a life, a job, and also be an enthusiast of things. These things are called hobbies or interests. A hobby or interest can be anything a person likes which is possible to include but not limited to cars, winter, snow, Subaru cars, AWD cars, snow(did i mention that already?), Audi Quattro's, hiking, book reading, playing a musical instrument, and so on. And for all we know, it was this guy's day off.

    • KyleJRay
      KyleJRay In reply to patricknedz

It would do better because of slightly higher ground clearance and the fact he is still using his summer tires. If you don't run summer tires or simple crappy highway tires in the winter, you will be better than fine. If you can't afford to have 2 sets of tires, try to find the best all season's you can. On my 4th wagon and my mom is on her 2nd Forester. Subaru-4-Life.
