In this excerpt from Episode 5, Ryan brings the Acura TL SH-AWD and the Audi A7 Quattro together once more for a V6 shootout. Which is best on a tight, twisty course? The 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD with a 3.7-liter 305-hp, high-revving V6 with VTEC or the 2012 Audi A7 with a growling 310-horsepower 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6?

I had a 2004 350 z(Enthusiast) with just 108 thousand on the dashboard. Never give me any major trouble. Kept the oil change(synthetic blend) amd lil minor problems here and there like any ordinary car. But unfortunately it got totaled. But i had my eyes om a Acura Tl SH AWD. Bought a 2012. And never look bck. One of the best sport sedan cars Acura have made. Just a beautiful car and the performance is on point.

I have a 2010 TL SH-AWD A-Spec, there is no equivalent these days... 6 speed manual transmission, 305 hp and a Honda reliability, this is something you can't get these days.

I drove a 2008 Acura TL. Sure, it was a nice car... but it wasn’t fun or anything exciting. It also didn’t feel much better than a fully loaded Honda Accord. When I started travelling around the world... it was totally disappointing to see that Acura’s were just Honda’s. Seeing all the comments about reliability...

Ppl are definitely unbelievable here! You would rather throw your hard earned money away on an overpriced, over engineered, maintenance nightmare just because of so called prestige! How economically smart is that? Hey look at me I can afford to repair my car more often than you! Isn't that an accomplishment! More money than brains. Politicians think the same way!

Lets not forget which one will nickle and dime you more on repairs especially if you tend to keep cars longer than most owners.

I bought the Acura TL (AWD) over the Audi in part because of this head to head... One of the biggest regrets of my life. An Acura is not 90% of an Audi, more like 30%. If you need a boring long life car, get an Acura. Otherwise, get a German Machine.

I believe if Acura bring back the legend TL instead of TLX in 2019, or 2020. The sales performance for them will be like amazing. Many old Acura owners left because of the 💩 of tlx.

I leased an 2015 TLX before. The highway feeling is amazing. One point I need to complain is that, when u accelerated from 0-20 the shift will “lag”, I don’t know lag is correct for this or not but u know what it means.

Why the fuck would you put a faster shifting 8 speed automatic up against a 6 speed manual?

To clarify, i'm talking about the two SPECIFIC cars compared. The autos are getting faster and faster, and YES they are faster then humans. BUT you CAN'T even come close to redline in an auto, so NO thats not true, you DO NOT have the same amount of control. AT ALL. The newest autos shift faster and have way more speeds and smoother shifts. NOT this audi tho.

AOMechMarine AOMechMarine are you kidding me it does to matter how fast you shift, that’s the whole debate between autos and manuals.(autos shift fast by the way) You have literally just as much control of the revs in the auto if you have select shift.

the driver has more control with the stick shift doesn't matter if it shifts faster, a pro driver can choose to rev higher or lower and therefore has more control.

I’ve owned 3 Mercedes and a 06 BMW 330i An I just bought me a 2010 Acura TL and boy am In love 😍 so fun to drive it has lots of power An I think it’s wayyy better than both the benz and bmw.. btw the BMW caught fire and always had electrical problems and was just a dumb ass car! Beautiful yes, fun to drive yes, but a piece of crap. And bmw customer service sucks! I’d rather have car that’s beautiful inside an out, fun to drive and easy to fix with less problems...

Before I bought my first Acura, I was looking at the Audi A6. On my next visit to my mechanic, I told him I was looking at buying the Audi. He stopped what he was doing to my car, looked straight at me and said, "Don't buy that car." I was shocked. I said I haven't told you anything about it yet and he said, "It doesn't matter. The expense of maintaining that car will break you. Don't buy that car." My mechanic has never spoken to me in a forceful direct manner. Because I trust him, I followed his advice. On my next visit, I saw that he bought the Acura MDX and that's when I knew the Acura got his approval. So I bought the Acuar TL. He was very pleased. :-)
