It is obvious that the easiest and cheapest way to become a car owner is to visit a local dealer and get a used model at a significantly decreased price. However, what if you have always dreamt about owning a crispy new automobile straight from a conveyor, but still happen to be on a very tight budget?

The clear solution is to obtain an affordable vehicle that hopefully, is not a compromise on quality and still remains a decent buy. Today, we will be showing you the latest models of budget cars that ensure remarkable mileage and are perfect for city driving or everyday commute, but at the same time cost as low as $12,000.

Unfortunately the Kia Rio is a rip off for Canadians. I'm referring specifically to the 5 door hatch back. Kia charges Cdn's $ 200, if they want any color other than black. They then charge what they call a tax and levies fee of $ 139.00. There is no explanation of what that is. It gets worse. In the small print they say " dealer may charge up to $499.00 admin. fee where applicable". If all that isn't bad enough, the following items are standard on the American version and are NOT even offered as an option on the 6 different versions of the 5 door hatchback in Canada : 7" touch screen w/AM/FM/MP3, Android auto, Apple car play, Bluetooth wireless, Siri Eyes free, USB auxiliary input jack, USB charging port, 12 volt outlet. PLUS even more options than these. Why any Cdn. would buy anything from Kia is total a mystery to me. They are a major ripoff artist !

+Automotive Territory: Trending News & Car Reviews- USED CARS ? My recent car history. ! In 1986 I bought I bought a new Monte Carlo LS I had it for 14 years until 2000. In 2000 I bought a 5 year old Pontiac Grand Am and had it for 10 years. That means the car was 15 years old when I got rid of it in 2010. In 2010 I bought an 11 month old Dodge Caliber SXT and it is now 9 1/2 years old and it still looks like new and runs great. I would NEVER buy a new car again. As for the Kia Rio 5 door I was just curious to see what the cost was since it was mentioned in this video. After my research of the Rio I would NEVER buy a used Rio or any other used car from KIA.

Somehow you switched from the looks to the price of the cars. There are different approaches to car ownership, even if you are shopping on a tight budget. If you take some time to scroll through the comments, you'll see people suggesting to buy used cars only, as they are more affordable compared to new budget cars or sub compacts as you refer to them.

+Automotive Territory: Trending News & Car Reviews- Has it not occurred to you that people keep buying sub compacts because they can't afford any better ? There are two major reasons why people change their jobs: they hate their work or they aren't paid a living wage. I dare say, most people's work is not appreciated, so it's not a good reason to leave a good paying job that you like. Unfortunately job security has become a thing of the past. This trend will continue as technology replaces humans.

American car market is one of the most developed in the world, so there are a lot of new cars that are bought every year. Every new car becomes used the moment it leaves the dealership, so the market has an abundance of both new and used cars.
