No kuriascthi on the the train? Do you really have to wait till next station? what if I miss it?   :-(  :-(  :-( , that would be sad. I may as well quit smoking all together, no? What I mean is, do they have a car for smokers? Ps, put some salt into that flat beer, it wil bring back the head :-) That's what they do in Vancouver pubs. Thanks any way, I ride the trans Siberian in the comfort of my living room and at no cost at all.

I have to say it.....Russian trains look like beat up Military transports...very old, tired, clinical. First Class? Omg.....those cabins are considered second class roomettes, without the comfort & awesome beauty of Amtrak lines. First Class Amtrak cabins, are gorgeous, elegant, comfortable, with each having full bathrooms/showers. This is a great trip, but on a tired, beat up, Militariesh looking sad train. How sad that Russian Railways don't understand the concept of true First Class...especially with a trip that lovely. To sleep & eat the entire journey, is sad.

Everything is determined by money. Amtrak's minimum price is higher than the first class at Russian Railways.

@H Brant I have seen a video, on which the company of Australians were amazing the other passangers by making almost nacked "an angel" in snow on stations, when traveling by train via the Trans-Siberian. So, everybody were laughing - both Russians and Australians:-)))

why sleep during the day and miss all the scenery...World's deepest lake crippled by putrid algae, poaching and pollution cientists are alarmed at Russian government plans to allow increased levels of pollution in the world's largest lake.
Lake Baikal contains 20 percent of the planet's fresh water. Russian government leaders say they can better protect the lake by increasing permitted levels of waste.

Flights are on average more expensive ($ 240-340), but you can find low-cost airlines or state-run flights. Quite a lot of people are afraid to fly on airplanes.

What a wonderful journey you had. I've watched all five parts of it from Vladivostok to Novosibirsk. I remember learning about those two cities, Lake Baikal and other places on the Trans Siberian Railway in Geography lessons at school 57 years ago. Very interesting and as others have said, there wasn't any distracting background music.
Russia looks after it's railways much better than the USA does. The sleepers (ties in America) and ballast are kept in tip-top condition. Those important components of a rail system look pretty sad in the USA. On another YouTube video I've watched it was said (by an American) that the reason for this, is that the railways are privately owned, and the owners don't want to spend money on upkeep of the infrastructure. Also that this is apparently one of the reasons why the speed of Amtrak trains is limited.
Thanks so much for posting these videos.
At 20:05 in Video 4, I think you hit the wrong key on your keyboard, and “mushroom bum” should be “mushroom bun”. It certainly looks like a bun with mushrooms on it!
