I want one. Also, this is NOWHERE near as spacious as Volvos in U.S. Not even close. Volvo needs to do better. But I still want one.

As an American truck driver I can say that all basic american trucks have that much bead space equivalent just in floor space before you even get to the bed, wich is usually twin XL or Full size. Damn I feel bad for non american truckers

My Volvo VNL 760 semi truck is one of the smallest on the american market and still has a ton of room and closet space and bed space

I wonder why they use those cab over trucks? They are extremely rare here in the states if not extinct.

Guys! You need to understand that Volvo is more a Europe truck and in Europe we have very strong rules about the length of the truck, so if Volvo would make a bigger cab then it will go over the length and would be illegal to drive. Even this cab (XXL) what they added a little bit of length can only carry containers because that container trailer is shorter. And that why Europe truck are way shorter than cabover trucks.

    • Erik Russi
Erik Russi In reply to Gandalf 392

Thats why Europe sucks ass, what the hell does it matter if a combination is 16 or 21 meters? For example in Germany a car hauler can be 20 meters. And in Sweden/Finland max lenght is 24/25.25 meters. Lenght is just set arbitrary with a total disregard for driver confort on long journeys. I am glad I no longer drive a coffin on wheels.

mexykpietrov Australia is currently reviewing transport laws.
We have submitted requests for vehicle lengths to be increased.
we can have 30m B trains now, but only on certain routes.
unfortunately we cant use the longer trailers with the VNL style truck on city roads, only freeways.

Trevor Warner yeah, the american Volvo has a bigger sleeper, but l still prefer the european Volvo because the main reason why we're in this trucks is to drive, and those american stoneage sleds has a long way to go before they reach european standards when it comes to comfort and safety

Well,it's quite questionable, adding 25cm on bed brings you not much comfort unless you a fatass who need a crain to get inside the regular cab.I'd rather prefer a tower like frige and work/storage areas like those in US trucks.

Some Guy In reply to Some Guy

Gareth Ifan no doubt American trucks would not work in Europe, they are too big. I’ve come to appreciate the comfort though. They feel like you have a little apartment with you wherever you go.

American trucks are simple machines. Dirty, loud (outside anyways), and brash but they work hard and make the road feel a little more like home.

Euro trucks certainly drive nicely. They are easy to handle and are quiet and relatively clean running. The sleeper is small and fairly sparse though (although still comfortable). Either way, driving trucks is a pleasure and a pain, no matter where you do it.

No thanks - US trucks - sleeper size apart - are decades behind. Plus they wouldn't work in Europe. These are more comfortable also.
