Running a car until it's 100% out of fuel is a great way to break fuel system parts.
Fuel economy is so much more about what you do with your foot instead of what the sticker says a vehicle can do. You could drive a cx5 like a maniac or a turbo vette like a grandma and see the vette get better fuel economy any day.

+Christopher Pauley Thank you, Sir, for taking some time to educate me on this. Fron now on I would be much conscious of what my foot does to this poor gas pedal:) I think, I will keep right from now on. #lessaggressivedriving

By pushing it less. More RPM = more fuel burnt. Less RPM = less fuel burnt. People often see a sticker or information online that says a car can get xx mpg. What they don't understand is that this is only what the car is capable of under totally optimal circumstances. . Optimal circumstances being - perfect low rpm shifts, higher octane fuel (if we are talking gasoline), and generally less aggressive driving. Stupid people often buy a Prius and floor it everywhere they go and ask themselves questions like "why is the fuel economy so bad? I thought the sticker said 40mpg? "
Manufacturers know this so well they design whole systems to force you to drive less aggressively (which is what skyactive does every time it shifts up extremely early).

Are you referring to the manner we hit the gas pedal? I am not sure I get your point. If you are referring to that, then how how could one maximize fuel through the way one pushes on the gas pedal?

Holy God some people need to get a hold of themselves. Steve's vids are more like adverts rather than reviews. Correct me if I'm wrong but he works for a car dealership. They are still quality adverts/demonstrations that also happen to be entertaining. Keep up the good work Steve.

I'm actually not really "selling" to anyone in particular. I'm discussing a variety of aspects about the vehicle for viewers to digest any way they see fit. The actual specs about the Mazda CX-5 are readily available from the MazdaUSA.com website (65.4 cubic feet with seats folded). The laundry basket reference was an "inside" joke. Thanks for watching..:) Steve

Laying under the car? At least one laundry basket? Seriously?! Do you really think people who are serious enough about a vehicle to actually research reviews find these selling points humorous? Who do you think you are selling to? College students? I would like to know just how much cargo room there really is. Someone downsizing form a family van to an SUV (cause the kids are finally gone) really would like to know more than "at least one laundry basket."
