Finally, a salesman who knows something about the car instead of just trying to SELL it. Been to an auto show and I'm done with the CRV! Piece of shit! Don't care if it has turbo (just more issues down the road) a 1.5 liter is ridiculous. I have a 2002 Honda CRV and there isn't anything I can't fix on it but what they're selling today is just CRAP. Don't buy Turbo people... 190 HP for a turbo is just plain stupid. Plus, the CRV has so many electrical issues. If it weren't for my knowledge on how to repair cars, My CRV would be in the shop all the fucking time.

Michael Holmes really seems to be enthusiastic about the vehicles he sells. Of course, it does help that the new RAV4 has some awesome tech. Michael Holmes is an American hero.

Am considering this for next car, don't do as many highway miles as used to do, so would see more benefit from the hybrid system. Not saying it is perfect, but would suit my needs, without being too big.

Hidden feature, The rear view mirror in my XLE Prem, has its LEVER which is adjustable on both ends of its stretch, for height and 360 degree adjustments. its cool, nobody mentioned it. Like a nice shower head.

Weak review on technical details, mainly two salesmen shooting the breeze while driving. Alex on Autos has a better technical review on this new hybrid.

Sadly this salesman is a salesman. His pitch on savings the customers money, pfft.. Also, not all Toyota Hybrids are made in Japan. Rav 4 is made in Japan & Canada currently and by 2020 they will expand to their Kentucky plant.

Nothing, they are all equally fast. The XSE just has a sporty suspension.

220 hp, guess that's the 175 hp petrol and the rear electric of about 50 hp. So the 150 hp front electric is only used as a generator?

    • C Powell
C Powell In reply to Brian Anthony

      Brian Anthony
No, the front traction motor pulls and generates when coasting. You can't just add up the gas hp and the electric motor hp for a total with hybrids. There is a special formula agreed to by the industry to get a total HP on a hybrid that's takes all torgue sources into account it's just not straight addition.

38 miles highway driving, not bad, could go up to 40 miles per gallon. Noise level for outside in, is horrible. Glass should be doubled pane. Other then that its a nice suv, drives smooth, goes fast and has features that you don't find in other suv's models. Noise is still the same, LOUD from outside in.

I think I know why... When he did his two petal to the metal runs, he probably drained the battery quite a bit, causing the efficiency to drop off a lot. The engine had to work extra hard to drive the car and power the electric motors because he depleted the batteries.

Christopher beat me to it. Your expert needs to check his facts. The V6 RAV4 had 269hp and as stated by Christopher, 0-60 times tested at 6.3 sec. to say it’s the fastest current RAV4 is fine but not the fastest ever. This makes his knowledge less reliable.

27 mpg on 70 mph its horrible numbers. Thats very bad that 40mpg its only on the papers in front of your eyes once you are buying this car. The biggest advantage of this car is fuel effiency , however the numbers that was calculated during your driving guyz its really bad.

If Toyota is saving money by switching all their models to a shared platform then why is a fully loaded RAV4 $40k when all their other competitors, except for the Tiguan, max out around $35k?
