For 2019, Acura turns things up a notch with the redesigned and significantly improved 2019 RDX. It's new from the ground up and this sporty RDX A-Spec package is one of the few high feature options. For this luxury suv class, the new RDX with SH-AWD shines in the handling department and the 2.0T paired with the 10-speed transmission provides enough thrust to have fun. I was very impressed with this RDX overall and let me know what you think!

It comes free for 6 months, then it’s an optional paid subscription. Otherwise I believe you can get for $400 as an “accessory”. I doubt you could get a discount but you can add it to the A Spec for sure!

It's probably just me but that cockpit looks too busy, and they sure slapped the heck out of this thing with enough piano black. I second that issue with the remote start being absent, real chintzy move by Acura/Honda. Shame on them. Those tail pipes looks massive though. Not familiar with that audio system but I'll take your word on its accuracy and soundstage. Yeah, it's a nice looking ride, like many other luxury rigs so I'm sure it'll look good in some collectors stable. Another fine review big dawg. Have a blessed week. Oh and yeah, definitely lobster claw on those tail lights. :)

For the most part I thought the bass was good enough...but it’s definitely not like an aftermarket subwoofer addition. It’s hard for me to say...I’m not a good judge of audio sorry! If I bought the vehicle...I’d leave it with the system it has stock

Another great review. Thanks for giving L/100kms fuel economy for us Canadian viewers. Also, it seems every brand is obsessed with big low profile tires which seem to only reduce ride comfort more than anything. The RDX is a sweet machine but I would choose the trims with the smaller wheels.

Norm T only the CRV had oil dilution not the Honda Accord 1.5T nor 2.0T. There is non on the RDX. I thought I had dilution issue but confirmed by Blackstone Oil Analysis to be false. Too many short trips, long Idle and cold temperatures were the cause of fuel smell. My oil dilution <1.5%. A few forum users on the Internet complaint of limp mode on the RDX but that does not represent the mass.

    • Norm T
Norm T In reply to Norm T

+Bi Nhan CR also bought one to test and know what a abomination the 2019 RDX.

The Honda 2.0T has been going into limp home mode in both Accord and RDX with 2.0T. Honda also has a problem with fuel mixing with oil in the 1.5t engine.

You'd think since they are 2nd to last to bring DI and turbo-4 tech to the masses they would have figured how to do it right instead of using Honda-paying beta testers.

    • Bi Nhan
Bi Nhan In reply to Norm T

Norm T is a troll! CR removed the RDX because of infotainment issues. I have had issues with my RDX but that is a non-issue as Acura OTA updates addressed most bugs. It will continue to get better. Reliability is not the concern. It is a reliable engine shared with the Accord turbocharged engine.

Acura might not compete too well in the looks category...some might say, but it sure kicks butt in the performance & quality categories. You MUST physically drive one to appreciate them. I’ve owned a 2012 MDX and had a loaner 2016 RDX for a day, liked them both. I own a 2016 RLX, bought it brand new right off the showroom floor at the dealer. All I can say is “LOOOOVE it” 🤗 wouldn’t trade it for nothing. The sound system is phenomenal 🔊. Good review Nolan.

+MoNo K Motor Trend says the RDX 2.0T is slower than the 2019 QX50 2.0T with it's new engine where the RDX new Accord 2.0T is putting out less.

"...The 268-hp crossover recorded a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds and a 15.1-second quarter mile at 91.6 mph. That's a good bit slower than the last 280-hp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport we tested but slightly quicker than the 272-hp Acura RDX A-Spec."

So C&D 6.6 second 0-60 mph was correct on calling it a Bspec or Cspec. Even Consumer Reports's 7.0s 0-60 was also correct. No sub 6-second time for RDX 2.0T.

Out handled by QX50 and XT4 in Motor Trend handling test.

Even the the Buick Envision 2.0T is putting down a faster 27.5s figure-8 time vs 2019 RDX 2.0T at 27.7 in Motor Trend testing.  That continues in an Emergency Lane test by CR that has the Envision 2.0T doing 55.5 mph while the RDX 2.0T can only go 52.5 mph.  And that is with four less speed compared to the RDX.

Norm T - Performance is not all about acceleration. Handling, top speed, and ride quality are some other factors to consider. Acura RDX wins the crown in performance over Infinity QX50.

What is the advantage of watching what wheels are getting the power? Interesting but distracting. I just want the all wheel drive to work with a minimum of input from me and keep me safe. Often manufactures add switches for sand, snow or mud. I know the car can detect those things. Most all wheel drives are used to get the car off the lawn after washing if not in snow.
