Thanks to my day job, I drive a lot of cars. Today I’m driving the all-new 2019 Audi A6. With Quattro all-wheel drive and 335-horsepower, 3-liter turbocharged engine it’s a quick and luxurious sedan. And just so the premise is ultra-clear, this is not a comprehensive review but rather a casual look at the Audi A6 sedan while I live my normal life. Simple. Fun! Not Hall & Oates levels of fun but close.

For well-produced, comprehensive vehicle reviews, watch me on Kelley Blue Book’s channel.

I really do write the music for all these video reviews.

Great review of a cool car. I guess to some this will come across as something I should not post ..... but, I simply want to let folks know what goes on in my head.   I mowed lawns and did yard work for many World War One vets as well as World War Two vets when I was a kid 40 years ago. I remember those generations of men. I see this fellow and how nicey nice he is, he likes to be comfortable and soft ,  and I am really having difficulty picturing him " charging Iwo Jima " ...or enduring months in a trench fighting the Germans in World War One. I hear from women his age in general, that while they do want the 200k + incomes guys like this make, they really miss the actual man that existed in generations past.  This is evolution... it is a good thing the US military has technology.

I was waiting for this car to be released and then watched a video from a car show and couldn’t believe they 1) moved the infotainment screen down out of sight lines 2) made all controls touch screen and so low.

This car is built to distract drivers.

Don’t like the new Audi A6 at all. Can’t understand the fake exhaust, what the gimmick about. Best Audi A6 years are 2016 & 2017. 2018 is a mixed emotion of like dislike. Very happy I got mine in 2016.

There's no reason those ridiculous not-exhaust outlets need to be fake. That would be a deal breaker for me.

Purchased one for my wife back in November. It was the first one on the lot at our dealer.....we were actually looking at a S5 Sportback then she fell in love with the '19 A6 when she saw it. Absolutely love the MMI. It becomes second nature once you get used to it. My parents have a '14 A8 and the MMI on it is not as intuitive as the new version...imo. This is our first "modern" German car and the one thing that perturbs me is the lack of remote start. And, if you get out of the drivers seat while the car is running it will automatically shut off after 30 seconds unless you turn off the auto start/stop.

You're an excellent reviewer, but a car like this needs to be driven, not eased along in traffic. For my taste there's too much about features and tech-- and no serious driving. Many cars come with similar features. Audi's are built for high-performance driving. If you're going to post a review, take an extra day, drive to the canyons, and give us a taste of what the car can do.

6:39 Technically the C8 Audi A6 is only the 5th generation as generations C1, C2, and C3 were marketed as Audi 100s with the A6 name not being introduced until part way through the C4 generation.

1:08 I really hate the empty angled gloss black around the top screen on new Audis, it is without a doubt my most hated interior item on any current car. It shouldn't bother me as much as it does. [Side note: For years I thought the band was called Haulin' Oats, I obviously never looked into it.]

Happy you're doing your own thing on your own channel now. Was a pleasant surprise when I found it. Your content is great on KBB and while these vids feel more personal (as they should), you still cover each car with the professional touch you bring to the KBB stuff.

A6 looks great and virtual cockpit is the coolest car feature out these days but those wheels looked huge. Stock 20s or 21s on a non S-line car?

Of all the Audi models, I find the A6 to be the most good looking (well, 2nd to A7 that is...), even the older models still looks good...  Great review bud!

I feel the main screen is too low to use for navigation. It should be same level as the virtual cockpit. Maybe push the vents down between the 2 screens. It's funny how audi going from no touch screens to all touch screens. They used to say touch screens are not safe while driving, but now they're all in.

micah have you ever had or been in an audi before my c5 a6 has all of that minus the digital nav and cluster, also most cars 2017 and up have air cooled seats thank hyundai for pushing that as a standard on the nicer cars

    • Eric

The digital screens LOOK nice, but in reality they're a death trap. All the work auto manufacturers are putting into safety, and in an attempt to make the interior "cool" Audi is essentially putting your safety (and others) at high risk. It doesn't take a genius to realize that hand-eye coordination to use a touchscreen is much more intense than grabbing a nob or feeling for a physical button. There's ZERO reason why your HVAC controls needed to be on a touch screen... zero. And heck, turn the car off and take note of all the smudgy, greasy fingerprints all over those displays - nasty.
