I'm hoping that Toyota will end up offering the 6 speed manual transmission in the
"L" trim version, do you know any more about that? Oh I'd be interested in a review of the L when you get one in. Thanks.

Do you have an idea when Toyota will implement Android Auto in their cars? A dealership told me a software update would come later this year. But only on the cars that already have CarPlay.

Toyotajeff in Raleigh In reply to Gilbert Galvan

Gilbert Galvan Actually it wasn’t Toyota. Toyota was worried about security with the android system for their customers and revealing too much of their personal information. They finally got it worked out.

+Toyotajeff in Raleigh Such a shame. What was Toyota thinking? Many people use Android devices.

Gilbert Galvan I haven’t gotten confirmation on any software updates. Plan on all 2020 models for to have android auto other than the Corolla that have the Entune 3.0 system.

This can’t compare to what my grandma just got a lease on. 2019 Nissan Rogue SL with the premium package and is fully loaded at 34,620$. Has the gunmetal gray exterior. I did drive it today for the 2nd time and been averaging nearly 27mpg which is great. This has every single option on it and has all the new safety features and more. Has an eco and sport mode. Eco mode helps get better gas mileage. Does have the auto brake hold. Nissan pro pilot assist and remote start with a kick back power tailgate. There’s like 5 buttons on the Nissan key. Might want to check out a new 2019 Nissan Rogue SL if your interested. Instead of this corolla.

I am surprised; I thought that was the hybrid grill .. but it is just that the LE is the hybrid model you would get (with the hybrid system). I was thinking the 2.0L was they way to go .. more power and very similar gas mileage. I like the BIG speedo (with tach off to the side) .. I have had yellow and white gauges, kind of liked yellow as you could tune it to a lower setting and still see it. I like the high content (and Toyota has it price very well); both a big complaint in the past of mine. The tail lamps do not look LED .. LED bulbs I'm thinking? The brake hold and slow traffic crawl sounded very good. My foot just aches in traffic after riding the darn brake for 20 minutes.

The 2.0 has more power AND better mpg. If you are stuck in traffic all the time the hybrid is definitely the way to go. The 1.8 in this LE has become redundant.

Great review! I’m actually considering a 2020 Toyota Corolla. I just have a couple of questions:
      1. Do you know if you can disable the auto engage feature on the parking brake?
      2. For the LE, are there dealer accessory wheels that you can get to replace the hubcaps?

The LE seems to be the best value in the bunch, and it seems very worth the $450 price jump over the base L model.(why would you choose the L?)

LE is a great value. I don’t think you can disengage the electronic parking brake but I’ll ask around. There are 16” alloys you can get yes!!

Hey Jeff, any word on the 2020 Highlander? I can't fit in the Corolla or Camry unfortunately. Both look nice though. Sat in the Camry and it was comfortable, minus the lack of head room for me(I'm 6; 9").

Expect news of the next Highlander in late summer. Even though I am only 6'2" I hope Toyota does not continue their recent trend of substantially reducing headroom with their new TNGA models.

Don't get the LE. It still uses the ancient 1.8 liter engine. Either get the Hybrid for 50 mpg, or the SE with the 2 liter for more power.

John Williams In reply to John Williams

watershed44 The LE and even the XLE trims still use the 1.8 liter. Only the SE and XSE get the 2.0 liter. The Hybrid also uses the 1.8, but it makes up for it with excellent fuel economy.

Yeah, it's a bummer to see that. But it's also an old proven engine so you know it'll run for a long time...it's just down on horsepower in the modern era of cars. I wish they offered the new 2.0L in all of the 2020 Corolla's though, because I'm not super keen on the styling of the SE/XSE models.
