Here's a full interior and exterior tour of the 4th-generation Acura TL with Super-Handling All Wheel Drive. The styling of the TL was updated in 2012 in order to subdue the shield grill and smooth out the sharp lines that the car had developed in its 2009 redesign. In addition, the 2012 Acura TL was updated with an optional, top-of-the-line Advance package that added 3-level heated and cooled front seats and Acura's BLIS (Blind Spot Information System). All in all, I think that this 4th-generation TL is a very compelling package that's fun to drive yet luxurious for everyday commuting. Is the 2012 Acura TL good for over 200,000 miles? I’m looking at ones that are 110,000 to 120,000 miles, that’s why I’m asking. Also, how does this car fit for a big chunky guy too? Thanks in advance!

push in that little compartment in the center console for it to come out, don't pull. also, for anyone buying this car, the Bluetooth features have an annoying 2 second delay when changing songs. I cannot emphasize how annoying this is for a daily driver

SH-AWD comes with 18's, not Tech package.  Base with Advance will get you those 18's also.  Only Advance SH-AWD gets you the 19's.  ...also you only need Tech for wing spoiler.

how are acuras with over 100kmiles on them?

StickEfangaZ They're very reliable and still drive very nice. The timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment, new spark plugs, and transmission fluid exchange are all due at 105,000 miles, but Acuras will run to 200,000 miles easily if well maintained.

I wouldn't bother with a 4th gen TL unless it's 2012 and up. The 5 speed autos in the 2009-2011 models were outdated and still somewhat unreliable and gave the car horrible gas mileage since it's a much heavier generation. The 6 speed auto and the updated nav and body styling is much more worth it.

I like how everything is updated from 3g but just don't like how it looks. it's too bulky for me. if only you could have 3g exterior with all the interior updates in this car haha. nice review though!

Thinking about trading in on a 4th gen? I was in Inver Grove Heights a few years back. Loved Old World Pizza.

Dude, I'm so hoping you get to buy one of these 4th-Gen Acura TLs. I bought a Black 2010 example & I simply love it to bits. But I was hoping that you filmed your test drive of the vehicle. Maybe a re-review would be in order 😊

      Bless.

Which Acura TL do you prefer, the 3rd Gen or the 4th gen? How are the driving dynamics different when compared? Also, which transmission in either generation was smoother?

April Mitchell After driving the 4th-gen, I would say that I prefer it to the 3rd-gen. It's quieter, the interior is more plush, it's more powerful, the AWD system works great when flooring it out of a corner, and the 4th-gen is a little safer too. The 4th-gen rides firmer than the 2008 3rd-gen, especially on models with SH-AWD. The steering is lighter, but quicker off-center in the 4th-gen, the brakes and throttle feel about the same, there is less body roll in the 4th-gen, and the 4th-gen has a tighter turning circle. I felt that the 6-speed automatic transmission in the 2012-2014 4th-gen was smoother than the 5-speed automatic in the 3rd-gen.
