I just bought a 2014 Passat used from my local dodge dealer and to be honest it is the best car I've ever driven. If you see one used at your dealership or you are thinking of getting a newer one I highly recommend it.

It's come down to the passat and accord for us.... Your reviews are informative and I have to agree I prefer a review without the automotive employee present. Great work nonetheless. I'm leaning towards the VW though the Accord is tempting

my advice to you guys who are thinking of getting a VW. If you must drive a VW, lease it, don't buy it. Because what will happen, as soon as the car starts to age, it will chronically break down on you. Even little things that shouldn't break due to normal wear and tear will break. Repairs are expensive...the cars are just not meant for the long haul.

Lease it, beat the hell out of it, and bring it back to the lot where you found it.

That is pucky, I always dealer maintained my car, always cared for it, it died 5 miles out of warranty. Was junk from the day I bought it, it replaced a Jetta that pretty much lasted 11 months. Absolutely no VW customer service. It is not always about maintainence. I have 500k on my Chevy and easily put 300k on all my cars. Be warned of VW lack of quality and customer service lots of parts made in Mexico.

My daughter and I have identical 2014 wolfburg passats. She has the 1.8T, while I have the 2.5. Hers seems to be a little peppier at takeoff, but in mountains, it has to downshift more. I actually get better mileage. Maybe it's the driving habits. I drove from Norton, Va to Dalton Ga, and back often running 80 to 90 mph, and going over 2 mountains, and got 34.1 mpg for the round trip. I couldn't believe it, and checked it against the computer, and it was correct. I had a rabbit manual with the same engine, and it was hard to get 30 mpg, however the gearing on the rabbit was much lower.

@That Dodge Guy omg you think Dodge has better reliability than VW? Yea right lol. Dodge is the lowest ranking brand in the US by consumer reports. VW is at least the same as say Ford or slightly better.

The only downside for Charger with visibility and so so trunk space for a full size car. Otherwise, Charger and 300 with 8 speed automatic are great compare to Passat or Fusion.

if you must get a foreign car....get the Honda. Volkswagens are pieces of shit that will start to chronically break down after they get a little aged. I owned a Jetta, it was a fun driving car...but unreliable and a flawed design.

The vw guy knew is stuff. Very professional and knowledge. Dave didn't give a review, it was more of a intro to the vehicle. He's fair and will eventually give a more critic video I'm sure. Everman is one of my favorite reviews to watch.

I like the exterior very much, not like angry American car or flimsy Japanese or trying-to-be-different Korean design.
Honda and Mazda Subaru offers more advanced safety features... VW appears to be a generation behind.
