A routine traffic stop in a small German city shows that many motorists still aren't wearing seatbelts. The excuses are many and varied. Many people wrongly believe that an airbag alone provides adequate protection. We put that theory to the test with Germany's automotive club, the ADAC. www.dw.de/program/drive-it/s-9690-9798

Truthfully though seatbelts can be significantly improved. A 4 or 5 point harness is much better.

In an ideal world people should all be driving around with racing harness, roll cage, and helmets on.

I was in a car accident yesterday. My injuries were caused b y my seat belt. The airbag didnt go off. I would have have walked away without my seat belt.

My friend and the other two occupants in a vehicle got in an accident his weekend. They all three got ejected. One died and the other is in a coma, but my friend is badly injured. She’s got a fractured pelvis and other broken bones. None were wearing their seatbelt. It would’ve been a much different story if they were. I implore each and every one of you to make the split second decision to just use it. You never know when an accident will happen.

If you can't properly wear a seat belt, stay home and play your video games on the nice, safe couch.

I don’t disagree with the safety and wisdom of wearing one. I do disagree with the government taking our money if we so choose to act rashly.
Speeding tickets make sense because you’re endangering other people. A seatbelt is my business though
      Good video btw

Fail dummies dont have muscle in arms legs body they don't have the strength to brace on impact. They always flopping around like a fish out of water before and after a crash.

I suppose your username could also be applied to the reasoning used to mitigate any argument against seatbelts based on the test results using crash dummies.

I never wore a seatbelt, ever. But uhh.. just a few days ago, I had lost control coming down a mountain and flew off the road and tumbled about 200 feet down before being thrown out of the vehicle because of not wearing a seatbelt. The airbags never activated either. Despite all of this, I walked away unharmed.

If you “usually” wear a seatbelt but didn’t this time,,you’re lying. Because it’s a habit that you instantly do, every single time and you don’t feel right when you don’t put it on

I don't think its fair to say she is lying - you don't know that for a fact, going down a few hundred yards can be tempting not to wear, it happens to me too but I wear it anyway. People have different ways of justifying things.

Sorry about your friend, but dude are you retarded? The chance of getting stuck in a burning car is minuscule compared to any other type of accident. Even slow speed collisions can be fatal. Stop being a child and put on your damn seatbelt, it's there for a reason.

It shocks me that Armenian male drivers think like : If I have a crash, the seatbelt isn't going to help me. They and many other people do actually underestimate the power, importance and usefulness of the seatbelts. You can see that in this video. I was always wondering how can a driver get beheaded at a car crash, obviously it happens when the neck hits the steering wheel.
