They seem pretty proud of the interior lights and no shifter.  I've never had a problem finding where to plug something in, or having the shifter in the way.  Seems like they should focus there efforts elsewhere.

Never mind the plastic trays and bullshit buttons that Jeep has been using for years. Its not a coffee maker damn it. Expose the dual exhaust pipes,  (environmentally friendly my ass, they still pollute just as much) and gives us the option of a 6 speed manual, if you want to call it "sporty" . Some f@#$%g engineers and designers you guys are...

This is not what statistics show, not even the ILX, which was a smaller more sporty version Acura couldn't sell more than 5% of it self in stick form. Not even with the incentive of a more powerful engine.

+HybridEnergy If Acura makes a stick it will sell better than other luxury brands. In peoples eyes, Acura is not a luxury brand. The cars are fit for younger audience looking for luxury.

and you still won't buy it.  Less than 2% of sales are stick.  So is stick something that's always as on demand as people claim online or is everyone online who is always yelling for stick simply people who can't afford new cars anyway?

Acura needs some excitement. If this car looked like the prototype, I would've considered this car.

I have been looking for an upscale car for the past 3 months. I was leaning towards the Mercedes C400 or BMW 528i... The TLX gives me much better technology and ventilated seats at a much lower price then either of the other two cars. I think the Acura holds more prestige then a Genesis albeit not anywhere close to the Merc. I'm buying my V6 Elite tonight!

I've always been a big fan of Acura until you decided to make this. I don't know if Acura needed to save resources/money by combining the TL and the TSX or what, but this car is a fucking disappointment.

As a 2004 TSX owner this new model is a letdown, you'd think they would have more innovation in 10 years

Good thing about this type of shifter is that the guy driver can easily reach out to the passenger girl without a stick poking his breast. Perfect for navigation, inside the car.

You got it all wrong. I'll reverse that for you: so the passenger girl can reach out to the guy driver ,without a stick poking her breasts.

Wish list for future US-market TLX. Heated Steering wheel please. Bring that feature to the US model not only Canada. You're a luxury brand yet even entry level brand like Hyundai or Nissan have this popular feature available.

Push button shifter. No visible exhaust tips. Only 290HP engine which is less than previous versions. Acura has found a way to take a car that was known for edgy sporty looks and incredible horsepower and turned it into a car for my grandmother. Guess I'll be looking at Infiniti.

Yea right. If it died on you it's probably cause you didn't do the maintenance. This is a Honda. It never dies!

Feeling of openness such as the guys head almost hitting the low roofline. Funny. How about making a car for taller people?

6'6? Well, that's good to know. I'm 6'4 and I fit in the last TL but the headroom in the TSX was so low that I only had about 1/4 inch of headroom left. In fact during the test drive when we went over a bump I hit my head! That's when I told him the car was not for me. Hope the this new TLX is more like the old TL than the TSX was. In few years I would considering buying one if the headroom is fine.

I really want to like this car and Acura's new lineup, but the more I build and price and compare to competitors the more disappointed I am. I currently have a 2001 Acura Integra GS-R, which I bought brand new at the time. I've been going back to Acura to find a replacement and step it up to a luxury sedan for 5 years now.  I've driven the ILX, TLX, TL.  I was ready to purchase the TL, but then I found out Acura does not offer the TL in the Blue color if you want the 6 speed manual version. For some reason, blue is only an option on the automatic version.  I found that this is also the case for the TLX also. Then I said, ok i'll spend less and get the more fun ILX, but again Acura throws a curveball and says, "You are forced to get the red interior illumination if you want 6 speed manual"
Now with the TLX i'm hearing the shift buttons on the center console is only for the 6cyl version, but when I build and price on the site the 4cyl version is also showing the shift buttons on the center console so which one is it!?  Why can't I choose blue exterior with black interior?
The lack of consistency with Acura is truly disappointing. Why not just have all the available options on all the versions of the car? I am on Audi's website pricing out an A4 and they do not take color options away just for wanting a 6 speed manual. They do not limit the interior color options based on the exterior chosen. I am sad to see Acura not offering the same options on all available versions of a model.

+Bob Wilson You're right. Knock on wood, my GS-R is very low maintenance. She has 107k city miles on her and still drives strong. I feel old saying this but, they don't make em like they used to.  I've decided to keep my car until she doesn't run anymore.  A good friend of mine convinced me that my 4 door 2001 GS-R is rare to find for sale.

Remember the 99 acura to that came with a four speed auto ,the only auto and ecu combo that allowed the engine to ping off the rev limiter as long as needed. The five speed trans that came out a year later had an extra gear alright and a whole lot of heat for the third gear clutch pack too.Just remember your Honda history to appreciate how numb cars have become. God dam trendy people.lts and always will be about what can sell......

Can we have a NORMAL shifter back, please? Mercedes has that stupid column shifter too and that's why I don't like them anymore. Push-button shifters ain't any better: gimme a proper stick between the seats. ENOUGH of this gimmicky push-button shite already!
